❤️⛪️ 28 Serving Hearts

On the morning of August 23, 2026, the Parish and Archdiocesan Shrine of St. Catherine of Alexandria warmly welcomed twenty-eight (28) new altar servers during the Rite of Investiture, presided over by Fr. Dennis Acedo.

In his homily, Fr. Dennis reminded the new acolytes that serving at the altar is far more than performing tasks—it is an invitation to deepen their relationship with Christ.

“Kamong mga acolytes, you should deepen your relationship with the Lord,” he shared. “Pinaagi sa inyong pag-alagad sa altar, mas mapalawman pa ang inyong pag-ila sa atong Ginoong JesuCristo ug mas mapalawman pa unta ang inyong pakig-relasyon ug pagkahiusa sa Ginoo.”

He emphasized the vital role of a strong spiritual foundation: “Importante kini kay kon wala kay pagtuo sa Dios, panahon sa pagsuway, mo-undang ka.”

Faith is crucial, especially in times of trial, as service without it makes one easily give up. For Fr. Dennis, true service means allowing this ministry to shape not only how they serve, but also how they live their lives every day.

John Ryan Pagay, Chairman of the Altar Servers, presented the candidates during the Rite of Investiture.

Families and parishioners gathered to pray for and support the new servers as they were vested—a meaningful outward sign of their commitment to serve with faith, joy, and humility.

May these young men grow not only into skilled servers, but into faithful disciples called to serve and clothed in Christ.
