With hearts filled with gratitude and renewed faith, parishioners gathered in a spirit of joy and thanksgiving as the San Antonio de Padua Quasi-Parish formally celebrated its 7th Parochial Fiesta with the theme, โSan Antonio de Padua: Giya sa Pagkaplag sa Kalinaw ug Pagpahiuli sa Kinaiyahan,โ on June 13, 2026, at San Antonio, Caraga, Davao Oriental.
The Pontifical Mass was presided over by Most Rev. Abel C. Apigo, D.D., Bishop of Mati, concelebrated by the clergy of the Diocese of Mati and attended by parishioners, guests, benefactors, and community leaders. The celebration was hosted under the leadership of the Parish Administrator, Rev. Fr. Roberto Ombon, DCM.
In his homily, Bishop Apigo highlighted the importance of gratitude as the parish reflects on seven years of growth and service as a quasi-parish . He thanked God for the continuing development of the parish church and acknowledged the generosity of sponsors and benefactors whose support has contributed to the improvement of the house of worship.
The Bishop also reflected on the life of St. Anthony of Padua, describing him as a model of faith, humility, and dedication to proclaiming the Word of God. He encouraged the faithful to imitate the saintโs unwavering commitment to prayer, evangelization, and service, reminding everyone that the Church remains a place where people are continually led closer to God.
As the parish embarks on another year of faith and mission, Bishop Apigo called on the parishioners to remain steadfast in their spiritual journey, united in thanksgiving and inspired by the example of their patron saint.
The Eucharistic celebration served as both a joyful thanksgiving for Godโs blessings and a renewed commitment to building a faith-filled with hope, service, and devotion to San Antonio de Padua.
