As this year comes to its final breath, we stand at the quiet edge between ๐ธ๐ฉ๐ข๐ต ๐ฉ๐ข๐ด ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฏ and ๐ธ๐ฉ๐ข๐ต ๐ธ๐ช๐ญ๐ญ ๐ฃ๐ฆ. When the noise fades, we are forced to slow down and look backโnot just at what we achieved, but at ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐. And if we are honestโbrutally honestโthere were moments this year when we doubted Godโs nearness. Days when provision did not look like abundance, when faith felt thin, when prayers sounded more like ๐ด๐ช๐จ๐ฉ๐ด than words. Yet here we are.
Many of the prayers we remember were answered; many more were answered quietly, without announcement or recognition. Scripture never promised a year without loss, confusion, or exhaustionโbut it did promise ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ. Not because we lacked nothing, but because we were Godโs provision rarely arrived the way we scripted it. Sometimes it looked like food when resources were scarce, strength when our bodies and hearts were tired, and peace when understanding failed. Some days, provision looked like survivalโand that, too, ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ.
There were moments when strength ran out, when clarity was absent, and when faith felt more like obedience than feeling. He did not ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ฒ. Our circumstances shifted, our emotions fluctuated, but His character remained constant. What we often called โ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ณ๐ช๐ฏ๐จโ was, in truth, God sustaining us day by day. We wanted excess, but He gave sufficiencyโand sufficiency, in Godโs economy, is not lack; ๐ถ๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐.
And then there were the ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ผ๐ฝ๐น๐ฒ.
People God quietly sent when we were too weak to ask. Not perfect people, but present ones. Those who stayed when leaving would have been easier. Those who loved consistently, Who understood without forcing explanations. Who listened when we had no words and carried us in ways they may never fully realize. They were ๐ฎ๐ป๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐. Living reminders that God often wraps His faithfulness in Through them, God ๐ญ๐ช๐จ๐ฉ๐ต๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ฆ๐ฅ loads we thought would crush us.
Some of them saw us at our worstโ๐๐ป๐ณ๐ถ๐น๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ, ๐บ๐ฒ๐๐๐, ๐๐ป๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒโand ๐ค๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ด๐ฆ ๐ต๐ฐ ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ข๐ช๐ฏ. That kind of love reflects the gospel more clearly than a thousand sermons. Their presence was not just comforting; it was sanctifying. They taught us that faithfulness does not always mean fixing things, but ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด. Through them, God fulfilled His promise:
Looking back, it becomes clear that God did not merely provide things. He provided ๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ผ๐ฝ๐น๐ฒ, ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐, ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป, and even ๐๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ that saved us from what we thought we wanted. He closed doors that would have broken us. He delayed plans to deepen our dependence. He allowed trials not to destroy us, but to refine us. โ (๐๐จ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ฌ 8:28, ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ฝ)โnot all things are good, but ๐๐ผ๐ฑ ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐ ๐ป๐ผ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ด.
As we step into a new year, we do not carry certaintyโbut we carry ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ฟ๐. Memory of a God who has Of a faith that bent but Of love that ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฅ. That remembrance becomes our courage.
So we enter the coming year not boasting in our strength, but anchored in His Grateful for the hands He used, the hearts He sent, and the grace that sustained usโ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐น๐ฒ ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ.
If He was faithful then,
