Letโ€™s be honest. People will let you down. Even the people inside the four walls of the church.

Notice what this verse promises. It doesn't promise a perfect church. We lose our peace the exact moment we take our eyes off Jesus and put them onto people or problems.

Where is your focus today?
Are you staring at the person who hurt you?
Are you staring at the mountain of problems in front of you?
Or are you looking at the Savior?

The church is just a hospital for sick, messy people in need of grace. Life is a beautiful but hard journey. But Jesus? He is the solid rock.

Have you ever sat through a sermon, or read a Bible verse, and felt completely offended? Like the message was specifically aimed to embarrass or expose you?

Letโ€™s be brutally honest with ourselves: ๐—ก๐—ผ ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐˜๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ธ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚.

We love the parts of the Bible that comfort, encourage, and bless us. But we quickly get defensive when the text demands change.

2 Timothy 3:16 reminds us that God's Word is not just for uplifting us; it is also meant to ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฏ๐˜‚๐—ธ๐—ฒ and ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜ us. When that happens, human nature naturally puts up a wall. We feel "๐˜ซ๐˜ถ๐˜ฅ๐˜จ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ." We think the person sharing the message is targeting us.

But consider this: The speaker might just be preaching the message God laid on their heart for themselves or the whole church. God loves you way too much to let you stay comfortable in habits, mindsets, or sins that are destroying you. The Bible's answer is clear and strong: ๐—š๐—ข๐—— ๐—™๐—ข๐—ฅ๐—•๐—œ๐——.

If youโ€™re encouraging others, ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—บ๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜ ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐˜† ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐˜†. But Scripture does not present that kind of polished spirituality.

The Apostle Paul spoke of comfort while enduring affliction. In 2 Corinthians 1:3โ€“4 (KJV), he writes:

Notice the order.

We are comforted ๐—ถ๐—ป tribulation โ€” not always delivered ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—บ it immediately. And out of that very tribulation,

That is not hypocrisy.

Calling is speaking truth while depending on God to sustain you.

David understood this tension. In Psalms 34:18 (KJV), it says:

They are often the very place where God draws near.

Your calling may require you to speak about peace while your mind feels ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€. To talk about faith while wrestling with ๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฏ๐˜. The work is ongoing.

So yes, your ministry and your pain may coexist. You may hand someone hope while clinging to it yourself. You may speak about healing while asking God to bind your own wounds.

But this tension exposes something necessary:

When you encourage others to trust God, those words echo back into your own heart. When you tell someone that God is faithful, you are confronted with whether you yourself are resting in that truth.

It purifies your faith.

It removes performance.

It forces dependence.

But this must be said clearly and biblically:

Even in weakness, God invites you to come to Him. Matthew 11:28 (KJV):

Your calling may require you to speak while hurting โ€” but ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—พ๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ณ ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฒ.

Sometimes the reason you can talk about healing while hurting is because healing was never rooted in your strength.

It was always rooted in His mercy.

And perhaps that is the deeper conviction:

If you were already whole, you might rely on yourself.
But because you are aware of your weakness,

So when you speak about healing with a trembling voice, when you encourage others while quietly fighting your own battles

To be Baptist is not merely to belong to a denomination; it is to stand on the truth that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8

It is to believe that baptism does not save, but ๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ง๐˜ช๐˜ฆ๐˜ดโ€”that it is an outward confession of an inward transformation, a public declaration that we have died with Christ and risen to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:3โ€“4).

It is choosing to remember who God is when circumstances try to make us forget. It is trusting that even unanswered prayers and delayed hopes are still held by His wisdom.

A thankful heart does not come from having everything. It comes from knowing the One who holds everything.

So we give thanks โ€” not because the road was smooth, but because He never left us. Not because we understood everything, but because He was faithful through it all. Not because we deserved mercy, but because mercy was given freely.

We were blessed to hear the preaching of the Word of God through our brother in Christ, ๐๐ซ๐จ. ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐ง ๐๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐š, entitled โ€œ๐‘ฐ๐’ ๐’•๐’‰๐’† ๐‘ญ๐’–๐’๐’๐’๐’†๐’”๐’” ๐’๐’‡ ๐‘ป๐’Š๐’Ž๐’† (Sa Takdang Panahon)โ€, based on Galatians 4:4โ€“5. The message reminded us that what we often see as delays or hindrances are, in truth, part of Godโ€™s perfect and predetermined plan.

The message was clearly laid out through this outline:

(Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Every season has its purpose. What feels like waiting is often Godโ€™s divine preparation.

Jesus Christ, sinless and sufficient, became the perfect sacrificeโ€”not because He deserved suffering, but because God loves sinners. He came not for the righteous, but to seek and to save the lost.

Salvation is not only redemption from sin, but adoption into Godโ€™s family. Through Christ, we are restored into a loving relationship with the Father.

Truly, salvation is simpleโ€”yet perfectly paid by God alone. We have no part in earning it,

Thanksgiving, in Scripture, is not always born from abundance. Sometimes it rises from ๐—น๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜€. Sometimes it is not loud, celebratory, or easyโ€”but ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜ญ๐˜บ. The psalmist calls it a sacrifice for a reason. Because there are seasons when giving thanks means choosing worship even when the heart is heavy and the future feels

True thanksgiving is tested when familiar things shift, when stability is shaken, and when God It is easy to thank God when prayers are answered the way we expect. It is harderโ€”but ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ฟโ€”to thank Him when He removes what once felt safe and replaces certainty with trust.

This reminds us that thanksgiving is not rooted in circumstances but in who God is. We do not give thanks because everything is clearโ€”we give thanks because God remains faithful even when ๐˜ค๐˜ญ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜บ is gone. When plans change, leadership changes, or seasons end, God does not step down from His throne. He is still worthy of praise, still sovereign, still good.

The sacrifice of thanksgiving is an act of faith. โ€ It is worship that does not pretend pain isnโ€™t real, but declares that God is greater than it. It is gratitude that trusts Godโ€™s hand even when His path feels unfamiliar.

Thanksgiving Sunday, then, is not about pretending everything is fine. It is about choosing obedience in worship. It is about offering God our thanks not because it is easyโ€”๐—ฏ๐˜‚๐˜ ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐˜‚๐˜€๐—ฒ ๐—›๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐˜„๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ต๐˜†. And sometimes, the most powerful testimony a church can give is not celebration without struggle, but

So today, we offer our sacrificeโ€”not polished, not perfectโ€”but ๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ค๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ. And we call upon the name of the Lord, believing that the God who has carried us this far

As this year comes to its final breath, we stand at the quiet edge between ๐˜ธ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ด ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ and ๐˜ธ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜ธ๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ญ ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฆ. When the noise fades, we are forced to slow down and look backโ€”not just at what we achieved, but at ๐˜„๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐˜‚๐˜€. And if we are honestโ€”brutally honestโ€”there were moments this year when we doubted Godโ€™s nearness. Days when provision did not look like abundance, when faith felt thin, when prayers sounded more like ๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜จ๐˜ฉ๐˜ด than words. Yet here we are. Many of the prayers we remember were answered; many more were answered quietly, without announcement or recognition. Scripture never promised a year without loss, confusion, or exhaustionโ€”but it did promise ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ. Not because we lacked nothing, but because we were Godโ€™s provision rarely arrived the way we scripted it. Sometimes it looked like food when resources were scarce, strength when our bodies and hearts were tired, and peace when understanding failed. Some days, provision looked like survivalโ€”and that, too, ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐˜€ ๐—ด๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ.

There were moments when strength ran out, when clarity was absent, and when faith felt more like obedience than feeling. Our circumstances shifted, our emotions fluctuated, but His character remained constant. What we often called โ€œ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จโ€ was, in truth, God sustaining us day by day.
