Pentecost Sunday Morning Prayer.

Sign of the Cross (+)

God our Father,
let the Spirit you sent on your Church
to begin the teaching of the gospel
continue to work in the world
through the hearts of all who believe.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.

— Lucas 24:45

Tinutulungan tayong maunawaan ang katotohanan ng pananampalataya.
(CCC 1831)

3. Payo (Counsel / Right Judgment)

(CCC 1831)

7. Pagkatakot sa Panginoon (Fear of the Lord)

(CCC 1831)

Buod

Ang pitong kaloob ng Espiritu Santo ay:

ibinubuhos sa binyagan,
pinapalakas lalo sa Sakramento ng Kumpil,
tumutulong upang mamuhay bilang tunay na Kristiyano.

NEVER RECEIVE HOLY COMMUNION CARELESSLY AGAIN AFTER READING THIS ✝️

Holy Communion is not ordinary bread.
It is Jesus Christ Himself — Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.

Every time you approach the altar,
Heaven opens, and the King of Glory enters your soul.

Yet many receive Him casually, distracted, or unprepared. They forget that they are standing before the Living God.

The Eucharist is the greatest gift on earth.
It deserves reverence, preparation, and deep love.

Never rush to receive Holy Communion.
Never receive without examining your heart.
Never receive without faith and devotion.

Because one Holy Communion received worthily can:

Strengthen your soul

Forgive venial sins

Protect you from spiritual danger

Deepen your union with Jesus

Fill you with grace and peace

Transform your life

Lead you closer to Heaven

Before you receive Holy Communion, remember:
You are not going to receive bread.
You are going to receive God.

So come with:
🙏 Reverence
🙏 Faith
🙏 Humility
🙏 A pure heart

And receive Him
as if it were your first Communion,
your last Communion,
and your only Communion.

WHY THE CHURCH USES YEARS A, B, C
(UNDERSTANDING THE LITURGICAL CYCLE)

Many Catholics attend Mass every Sunday…
They hear different readings…
Different Gospels…

But few ask:
Why does the Church arrange readings this way?
What are Years A, B, and C?

1. WHAT ARE YEARS A, B, C? (TRADITION)
The Church follows a three-year cycle of Sunday readings, designed to present the life and teachings of Christ in an ordered way.

* Year A → Focuses mainly on the Gospel of Matthew
* Year B → Focuses mainly on the Gospel of Mark
* Year C → Focuses mainly on the Gospel of Luke
(Source: Tradition – Lectionary of the Church)

2. WHAT ABOUT THE GOSPEL OF JOHN? (SCRIPTURE)
The Gospel of John is not assigned to one single year.

Instead, it is used during:
* Major seasons (Lent & Easter)
* Important feasts and solemnities
This gives deeper theological reflection on Christ.

3. WHY DOES THE CHURCH USE A CYCLE?
The goal is simple:
* To expose the faithful to a wide portion of Scripture
* To avoid repetition of only a few passages
* To guide believers through the life of Christ step by step

4. DOES THIS HELP CATHOLICS READ THE BIBLE?
Yes, powerfully.

Through regular Mass attendance:
* Catholics hear Old Testament
* Psalms
* New Testament letters
* Gospels
Over time, this cycle presents a large portion of the Bible in an organized way.

5. WHO ESTABLISHED THIS SYSTEM?
The modern three-year cycle was expanded after the Second Vatican Council to deepen the faithful’s engagement with Scripture.
It is guided by the General Instruction of the Roman Missal and the Lectionary.

6. WHY NOT JUST READ RANDOM PASSAGES?
Because the Church is not random.

She teaches with order and purpose:
* Each Sunday builds on a theme
* Each season reflects a mystery (Advent, Lent, Easter)
* Each year deepens understanding of Christ

IN SUMMARY… THE CHURCH TEACHES WITH STRUCTURE
Year A → Matthew
Year B → Mark
Year C → Luke
John → Key seasons
This is not just reading…
It is formation.

Today, reflect:
“Am I just hearing the readings… or following the journey?”
…and let the Word of God grow in you

Be Prayerful. Be Inspired
