Circular No. 2026-04

TO: ALL CLERGY, RELIGIOUS, AND LAY FAITHFUL OF THE DIOCESE OF TANDAG

WHAT: DIOCESAN PRAYER VIGILS FOR WORLD PEACE ON APRIL 11, 2026

Dear Reverend Fathers, Religious, and Beloved Faithful, Grace and peace in our Risen Lord Jesus Christ!

In response to the recent call of our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, as conveyed through the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), I am directing that all parishes, chaplaincies, and ecclesial communities within the Diocese of Tandag organize and conduct prayer vigils for world peace on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at a time most suitable for your local communities.

The Holy Father, in his Easter Urbi et Orbi message, has invited the entire Church to unite in prayer amid the growing realities of conflict and the "globalization of indifference". This moment calls us, as one Church, to implore from the Lord the precious gift of peace and to renew our commitment to dialogue, reconciliation, and nonviolence.

In obedience and communion with the Holy Father and in solidarity with the universal Church, I ask that each parish ensure the meaningful observance of this prayer initiative. The vigil may take the form of:
Eucharistic Adoration The Holy Rosary The Celebration of the Holy Mass for Peace Other appropriate liturgical or devotional gatherings

Please encourage the active participation of the faithful, parish organizations, and families so that this may truly become a diocesan expression of unity in prayer.

Let this collective act of faith be our witness that true peace begins in Christ and must first dwell in our hearts before it can transform the world.

I entrust this initiative to your pastoral zeal and cooperation. Let us respond generously to this urgent call to prayer.

With every good wish and the assurance of my prayers, I remain

Respectfully yours in Christ,

+RAUL B. DAEL, DD
Bishop of Tandag

April 5

With joyful hearts, we give thanks to God for the life of Bro. Vince Louie Loreto, whose faithful service at the altar reflects a sincere devotion to Christ and His Church.

In his reverence, humility, and dedication, he reminds us that serving at the altar is not simply a responsibility, but a sacred privilege entrusted to those who desire to draw closer to the Lord. His willingness to serve inspires fellow altar servers to carry out their ministry with faith, discipline, and love. May God continue to guide his steps, deepen his faith, and bless him abundantly as he continues to serve with a joyful and generous heart.

“Whoever serves Me must follow Me; and where I am, My servant also will be.” — John 12:26

THE GLORIA ECHOES IN CANTILAN!

Tonight, the silence of Holy Saturday was shattered by the joyful ringing of bells! There is no moment quite like the Easter Vigil.
After the long, quiet days of Lent, our ministry had the distinct honor of leading the procession of light and serving at the altar during the "Mother of all Vigils."

The Moment of Glory when the lights came on and we rang the bells for the Gloria (Glory to God), it wasn’t just a task—it was a prayer. From the meticulous care of the thurible to the steady lifting of the candles, every movement our ministry made tonight was a "Great Amen" to the Resurrection of Jesus.

To our Altar Servers Ministry:
Serving at the Vigil requires discipline, patience, and a heart for Christ. Whether you were handling the fire at the entrance or assisting at the Table of the Eucharist, you helped the people of Cantilan encounter the Risen Lord tonight.

"To serve at the Altar is to serve Christ himself."

Let our service continue to shine as bright as the Paschal Candle throughout this Easter season!
🙌 He is Risen! Alleluia!

Happy Easter Everyone!

The Great Amen!

Our Final "Yes" to the Mystery
Tonight, as the flickering light of the Paschal Candle cuts through the darkness, we reach the summit of the Easter Vigil. After the prophecies are read, the waters of baptism stirred, and the Alleluia restored, we arrive at the heart of the Eucharistic Prayer.

Then comes the Doxology—the moment the priest raises the Bread and Chalice and proclaims:

"Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, for ever and ever."

Happy Easter! He is Risen indeed.

April 2, 2026 Our Parish Community gathered in solemn devotion to commemorate the institution of the Holy Eucharist and the Ministerial Priesthood. We were honored to have Rev. Fr. Elpidio K. Pastera Jr., DCT, preside over this moving liturgy, marking the beginning of the Paschal Triduum.

Part 1: The Mass of the Lord's Supper
The evening began with a profound sense of gratitude. As the bells rang out during the Gloria, our voices joined in a joyful chorus, celebrating the gift of Christ's presence.

"Do this in memory of me."

Fr. Pastera reminded us through word and gesture most notably in the Washing of the Feet that the Eucharist is an call to humble service. Following the distribution of Holy Communion, the joyful atmosphere transitioned into a heavy, sacred silence. The Gloria will not be sung again, and the bells will remain silent, until the Great Vigil of Easter.

Part 2: Exposition and Adoration
As the altar was stripped bare, the Blessed Sacrament was carried in a solemn procession to the Altar of Repose. The church shifted from a place of active celebration to a garden of quiet watchfulness.
