SECOND SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY

The Holy Gospel according to St. John 1:29 - 42a
29 The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
30 This is he of whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who ranks before me, because he was before me.’
31 I myself did not know him, but for this purpose I came baptizing with water, that he might be revealed to Israel.”
32 And John bore witness: “I saw the Spirit descend from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him.
33 I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’
34 And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.”
35 The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples, 36 and he looked at Jesus as he walked by and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God!”
37 The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus.
38 Jesus turned and saw them following and said to them, “What are you seeking?” And they said to him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are you staying?”
39 He said to them, “Come and you will see.” So they came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.
40 One of the two who heard John speak and followed Jesus[c] was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.
41 He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means Christ).
42 He brought him to Jesus.

29 Iti sumuno nga aldaw, nakita ni Juan nga agturong ni Jesus iti yanna. “Daytoy ti Kordero ti Dios a mangikkat iti basol ti lubong!” kinuna ni Juan.
30 “Isu daytoy ti sarsaritaek idi kinunak, ‘Sumarsaruno kaniak ti maysa a tao a natantan-ok ngem siak, ta addan sakbay a nayanakak.’
31 Diak am-ammo idi no siasino, ngem immayak mamuniag iti danum tapno ipakaammok iti Israel.”
32 Daytoy ti pammaneknek nga inted ni Juan: “Nakitak ti Espiritu a bumabbaba a kasla kalapati manipud langit ket nagdisso kenkuana.
33 Diak pay am-ammo idi no siasino, ngem ti Dios a nangibaon kaniak a mamuniag iti danum, kinunana kaniak, ‘Makitamto ti Espiritu a bumaba ken agdisso iti maysa a tao. Daytoy ti mamuniag iti Espiritu Santo.’
34 Wen, nakitakon daytoy, ket paneknekak kadakayo nga isu ti Anak ti Dios.”
35 Iti sumuno nga aldaw, agtaktakder manen ni Juan ken ti dua kadagiti adalanna.
36 Idi makitana a lumabas ni Jesus, kinunana, “Daytoy ti Kordero ti Dios!”
37 Nangngeg dagiti dua nga adalan ti kinuna ni Juan, ket sinurotda ni Jesus.
38 Idi tumalliaw ni Jesus, nakitana ida a sumursurot kenkuana. “Ania ti sapsapulenyo?” sinaludsodna. “Sadino ti pagtaengam, Rabbi?” insungbatda. (“Maestro” ti kayat a sawen ti “Rabbi.”)
39 “Umayyo kitaen,” kinuna ni Jesus kadakuada. Nakikuyogda ken ni Jesus ket nakitada ti pagtaenganna. Gapu ta dandanin alas kuatro iti malem, nakidagusda kenkuana.
40 Ni Andres a kabsat ni Simon Pedro ti maysa kadagiti dua a nakangngeg iti imbaga ni Juan ken simmurot ken ni Jesus.
41 Sinapulna a dagus ni Simon a kabsatna ket imbagana kenkuana, “Nasarakanmi ti Mesias!” (Kayatna a sawen, “Cristo.”)
42 Impanna ni Simon iti ayan ni Jesus.
