6th Sunday of Easter | May 10, 2026

Today, we celebrate the 6th Sunday of Easter. Also known as Rogation Sunday, this Sunday is the final phase of the Easter season, and also precedes the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord.

The term Rogation Sunday is derived from the Latin rogare, meaning "to ask"; this is directly in correlation with the Church's Rogation Days, which are days devoted for special prayers. The 6th Sunday of Easter is known as Rogation Sunday as it marks the beginning of the week before the Feast of the Ascension, wherein the Minor Rogations or Minor Litany are celebrated.

The readings for this Sunday place great importance on spreading the faith and deep prayer. They similarly focus on God's commandments as well. Let us keep these values in our heart as we anticipate the Ascension of our Lord.

Prayer to Señor Jesus Cautivo

​Look upon me, humble and loving Jesus,
prisoner of love for sinners.
In your presence, I deeply repent
for my sins,
and my soul asks
for faith, hope, and love
that will enable my self to change.
Save me, our Almighty God,
from any form of danger
and temptation that comes to me
and our family.

​Grant me, Lord, the grace of repentance
for my sins,
that I may have the strength of will
to serve my fellowmen
and to give the grace of hope
in Christian love.

​Amen.

Hilinga ako mabinion asin mamomoton na Jesus,
preso nin pagkamoot para sa makasalan.
Sa saimong atubangan nagsosolsol ako ning makuri sa sakuyang mga kasalan
asin sakuyang kalag hinahagad nin pagtubod, paglaom asin pagkamoot na magtatao na mabago ang sakuyang sadiri.
Ligtasa ako Makakamhang Diyos sa anumang porma nin peligro asin tukso na minaabot sakuya asin samuyang familia.

Tawi ako kagurangnan nin biyaya nin pagsolsol sa sakuyang mga kasalan nin igwang kusog nin boot na maglilingkod sa sakuyang kapwa asin magtao nin biyaya nin paglaom sa Kristyanong pagkamoot.
