Satan knows he cannot stop the Gospel. So he looks for hearts he can deceive. And if he can influence a leader, he can wound an entire congregation.
That is why leadership is dangerous without humility.
Leaders, be on guard.
The enemy does not always destroy a leader through obvious sin. Sometimes it begins with an uncorrected heart. Pride. Bitterness. Jealousy. The love of power. The refusal to listen. The need to always be right.
Little by little, a shepherd stops sounding like Jesus.
And when that happens, the sheep bleed.
Never forget: people trust you with their faith, their families, and their broken hearts. If you stop following Christ, they may end up carrying wounds they never deserved.
Do not become so in love with your position that you stop trembling before God.
A title cannot protect you.
A pulpit cannot protect you.
Years of ministry cannot protect you.
Only a heart that stays surrendered to Jesus can.
The Church does not need leaders who are untouchable.
It needs leaders who are broken before God before they ever stand before people.
