Acts 1:8-9
Jesus did not give His disciples power just for them to feel blessed. He empowered them so they could be involved in His mission.
In Acts 1:8, Jesus promised, “Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost comes upon you: and ye shall be witnesses…”
The purpose of empowerment is not comfort, but commitment. The Holy Ghost is not just an experience to enjoy, it is power to serve, to witness, and to participate in the work of God.
Many people want the power of God, but not everyone wants the responsibility that comes with it. Yet true empowerment always leads to involvement.
When God fills us, He also sends us. The disciples did not stay in one place after Pentecost, they became active in preaching, praying, serving, and reaching souls.
Acts 1:9 reminds us that after Jesus gave this commission, He ascended into heaven. He left the work in the hands of His empowered followers.
Today, that same call is for us. We are not just empowered to sit, we are empowered to serve. Not just anointed to receive, but anointed to reach others.
Challenge:
If God has empowered you, where are you involved? Your empowerment should lead to ministry, service, and kingdom participation.
Empowerment without involvement is wasted potential, but empowerment with involvement changes lives.
