It has been a dream of a small community at the outskirts of Camarin, Caloocan North to have their own parish church. A place where they can gather together to kneel down and pray, to give thanks, and to raise their supplications as one family. Keenan, SSC, parish priest of Our Lady of Fatima in Urduja Subdivision (to which the Sampaguita Subdivision was then under its care) granted the request of
the homeowners to allow then Msgr. and now Bishop Emeritus of Kalookan Deogracias Iniguez, D.D., to celebrate mass and confession at least once a month. Since most of the homeowners were either seafarers or spouse(s) of those working overseas, it was decided that the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage be its patron saint. Several years later, in October 1998, through a decree signed by the late Jaime Cardinal Sin, the Parish of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage was established. The Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish is under the Vicariate of Christ the King, Diocese of Novaliches. The dream of two barangays to have their own parish came into a reality. After 21 years, through the guidance of the parish priests that were assigned here and with the full support of its parishioners, the small wooden chapel is now a modest size church that can accommodate four hundred people. It also has a Reconciliation Room and a Formation Hall named after the Our Lady of La Salette. The convent and the parish office is situated behind the church. The Rite of Dedication took place in 2014 officiated by His Excellency, Antonio R. Tobias, D.D., Bishop of Novaliches, and assisted by Rev. Noel S. Cruz, M.S., the parish priest during that time. Roberto R. Titco was the first parish priest, followed by Fr. Juan Bosco Abellana, both diocesan priests. The third pastor was the late Fr. Joseph Raymund D. Biliran, also from the Diocese of Novaliches. The Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette took the parish under its pastoral care and Rev. Abdon Marino C. Dumayag, MS, Fr. Cruz, MS, and Fr. Eugene S. Flores, MS untiringly gave their services to nourish the spiritual needs of the community. At present leading the flock is Rev. Ronaldo N. Guzman, MS, also from the La Salette Missionaries, and the seventh parish priest of OLPGVP.
