January 7, 2023 - Saturday

BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU GET YOUR COUNSEL

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners ,nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.
PSALM 1:1–3

The brilliant first psalm contrasts the righteous and the wicked. The difference between the two seems to be where they get their counsel! Observe how a foolish leader can be led astray by a corrupt inner circle:
1. The leader begins to browse for the wrong counsel.
2. The leader begins to listen to the wrong voices.
3. The leader joins the wrong inner circle.

A wise leader meditates on God’s Word day and night. Note the results of receiving counsel from the right inner circle:
1. Stability
2. Inward Nourishment and Refreshment
3. Fruitfulness and Productivity
4. Strength and Durability
5. Success

TODAY's MESSAGE:

January 6, 2023 - Friday

Biblical Strategy
“On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets.”
(Joshua 6:4)

Throughout the history of Israel, many battles have been fought and won. Joshua led the Israelite army in many of those battles, but the most renowned is
the Battle of Jericho. According to the book of Joshua, the battle strategy involved marching around the city of Jericho, blowing trumpets, and shouting. It was a strategy that God had given to Joshua, and it was a strategy that worked.

A believer’s strategy for the future should begin with God. Take Him into consideration in your decisions. Also, when strategizing your future, be sure to be flexible in how you are going to accomplish your goals. Flexibility in planning is important because God may lead you in a different direction or there may be unexpected challenges along the way.

Do not be overcome by unexpected and discouraging circumstances. You simply need a new strategy so you can refocus and rebuild. Trust God, believe in yourself, and then step out and develop a new approach. Keep in mind that God uses seemingly impossible situations to make His glory known. Have faith in His plan as He guides you forward. And always, no matter what, maintain a clear picture of your future and your hope.

Dear God, thank You for Your wisdom and guidance. Help me to always begin with You. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

Blessed Monday!

New Hope for Each Day!

It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are notconsumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not. They are new everymorning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.
LAMENTATIONS 3:22–23

I like the way God has divided up the days and nights. No matter how difficult orchallenging a specific day may be, the breaking of dawn brings new hope. God wants usto regularly put the past behind and find a place of “new beginnings.”

Perhaps you have felt trapped in some sin or addiction, and although you haverepented, you still feel guilty. If that is the case, be assured that sincere repentance
brings a fresh, new start because of God’s promise of forgiveness.

Only when you understand the great mercy of God and begin receiving it are youmore inclined to give mercy to others. You may be hurting from an emotional wound.
The way to put the past behind is to forgive the person who hurt you. You do yourself afavor when you forgive.

God has new plans on the horizon of your life, and you can begin to realize them bychoosing to live in the present rather than the past. Thinking and talking about the pastkeeps you trapped in it. Let go of what happened yesterday, make the choice to receiveGod’s love and forgiveness today, so that you can get excited about His plan fortomorrow.

LIVING IN THE NOW!

The choices we make today will determine whether we will enjoy the moment or wasteit by worrying. Sometimes we end up missing the moment of today because we are tooconcerned about tomorrow. We are wise when we keep our mind focused on what God
wants us to be doing it now.

We will be more fruitful for the kingdom of God, and happier in our lives, if we willdetermined to live in the moment. Often we spend our mental time in the past or thefuture. When we don’t really give ourselves to what we are doing at the moment, webecome prone to worry and anxiety. However, if we live in the now, we will findthe Lord there with us. Regardless of what situations life brings our way, we will know
that today—right now—is a part of God’s plan, and He will bring us through it if wewill trust in Him.
