Sovereign Grace Reformed Baptist Church (SGRBC) was formerly known as Sovereign Grace Community Church (SGCC). It began when the members and three (3) associate Pastors of Camarin Christian on Fire International Church (CCOFIC), were excommunicated from the said charismatic church on January 14, 2021. The strong stance on Reformed theology created a major rift with their Senior Pastor and father,
leading to the excommunication. On January 17, 2021, SGCC held its first fellowship, which included most of the members from CCOFIC who had decided to join the newly established church. From a pragmatic and seeker-sensitive charismatic church, SGCC became committed to gradually reforming the church practices, specifically in worship, liturgy, and theology, embracing the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith. The church had recognized the need for assistance from an officially recognized Reformed Baptist church to oversee its practices, the faithful preaching and teaching of the Word, and to counsel its office bearers. In November 2023, Reformed Baptist Church of Malabon (RBCM) began to willingly engage as the oversighting church for SGCC. The church started with a plurality of three elders, unfortunately, over time, two of them left their office due to some ecclesiastical ethics and concerns, leaving Jonathan Orbe as the only remaining elder. Thereafter, the church decided to relocate to a property at Maligaya Parkland in January 2024. During these events, Chief Cornerstone Reformed Baptist Church (CCRBC), on the one hand, encountered geographical challenges that led them to the decision to assimilate some of their brethren to SGCC. On April 21, 2024, these brethren from CCRBC formally joined the SGCC church body. After several oversight meetings, counseling, and preachings to the church, RBCM has deemed it appropriate for SGCC to proceed to its covenanting and formal recognition as a Reformed Baptist church. On August 24, 2024, the church is officially named Sovereign Grace Reformed Baptist Church.
