In ancient times, it is a common thing for people to follow someone who appears to be knowledgeable and wise. Same is true in the time of our Lord Yeshua/Jesus. We can read in the gospel account for example that John the Baptist, the Pharisees and the Lord had their own sets of disciples or followers. The disciples are to observe, listen and absorb everything their teacher does and say, eventually they become like the one they are following. But the Lord says that whoever listens and does His teachings is wise and that person will be prepared to what is coming ahead! What is the difference between Him and other teachers? Is He better and more educated than others? Well, it is more than that, the Scripture says that He is the One who came from above, became flesh and dwelt among us! In other words, He is God-the Son of God clothed into a human body! At the beggining of this year alone (2020) unprecedented things took place, things we never thought would happen just like that. Famine, various deseases are in various parts of the world and rumors of wars we see on the news. How can we prepare ourselves? What is the best thing to do? Storing food is an urgent thing to do while others opted to store guns and ammunitions. But why not take it from the One who is eternal? To listen and obey His words is the best preparation we can do! Storms in life may come anytime, perhaps we just had ours, or to some of us are currently going through it, but if we hold on to His Word we will find ourselves strong on the same ground! So, to whom do we pattern our lives into? To whose instructions are we following? Just like in the ancient, there are too many voices, ideas and opinions these days, but there is One voice that can truly give us courage and peace from the inside out to keep our heads up even in this moment of uncertainty, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ!

In 1 Samuel 16:14 it says "But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the Lord troubled him."
We can read there the succeeding events after this, he was troubled from within, feeling not at ease that he needs David to play music for him to be relaxed.
But where did all this come from? how did it all started?

The reason behind Saul's rejection as the king of Israel which led to the departure of the Spirit of God was disobedience of God's instructions, he opted to do as he please [or the people] than to please God throughout.

Sometimes we think if we could only do this and that we would be happy or feeling satisfied! but in reality, we may enjoy doing what we want outside of God but only for a moment and yet the consequences is for life.

God offers us joy and peace that no man nor any thing can give, and that is through walking to the path He set before us!
It is the kind of peace and joy that passes all understanding!
May we all be found walking in Him as we go through this brand new day!

As they say "we cannot put God in a box" or in other words we cannot fully comprehend the mind of God for we are finite, He is not. But thankfully, it says in the book of Lamentations 3:22-23 "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness."

What a relief! for all of us could fall into something that is contrary to our faith regardless of our age or status. the purpose is not to condone someone but to give a chance to be back on the right track--that is mercy! and God offers mercy to each of us today.

Whatever therefore we have done yesterday that we struggle to forgive ourselves, if we are still breathing- let us not forget that He wants us to do the right thing today! and as recipients of His mercy, the same mercy should also flow to others through us--for our common mission as believers is to SEEK the lost and to "STRENGTHEN the weak hands,
And MAKE FIRM the feeble knees! [Isaiah 35:3]
