Yesterday, Bro. Jastine Pajarito had the opportunity to conduct a lecture on illegal drugs and anti-bullying for Grade 8 and Grade 9 students. More importantly, he was able to share the Gospel with them, using his profession as a platform to reach young people with the message of salvation.
Why is this important? In light of the recent shooting incident at San Jose National High School in Tacloban, it is evident that our youth need more than academic instruction. They need spiritual guidance. They need to hear God's Word, attend Bible studies, and be encouraged to join campus ministries where they can learn to know and fear the Lord.
As we look around, we see violence, corruption, immorality, and many other problems increasing in our society. While the Philippines is often known as a religious nation, the condition of our country reminds us that religion alone cannot change a person's heart. True transformation comes only through a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
As Christians, it is heartbreaking to witness the moral decline of our world. Yet our response should not be despair, but prayer. While there may be many ways people seek to address society's problems, let us never forget the power of the Gospel. Education, money, influence, and fame may improve circumstances, but only God can change a life from the inside out.
This is why soul winning remains so important. Let us be faithful in sharing the Gospel wherever God gives us opportunity. The greatest contribution we can make to our communities, our nation, and the next generation is to point people to Christ.
May this incident open more doors for campus ministries, school symposiums, Bible studies, and other opportunities to share God's Word with students. May the Lord continue to work in the hearts of our young people and use His people to be a light in these challenging times.
