IN PHOTOS | VICARIAL GRAND TAIZE PRAYER

Yesterday, hearts gathered as one in faith and silence at the Vicarial Grand Taize Prayer held at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish- Caridad, gathering the youths from the 7 parishes of the Vicariate of Baybay. More than 100 young people came together as one community, setting aside noise, distractions and the busyness of life to enter into a sacred space of silence, worship, and deep reflection. Through the gentle chants, candlelit atmosphere and moments of stillness, the hearts of youth were drawn closer to God and to one another.

The Gospel reflection by Fr. Jerome T. Dejarme highlights that Lent is a season for resisting temptation and fostering personal transformation. It emphasizes the need for disciplined prayer and intentional silence to hear God amidst distractions. The youths are encouraged to take concrete actions during Lent, such as forgiving others, serving selflessly, letting go of unhealthy habits, being present in the Eucharist, and sharing Christ's love within their communities.

The Vicarial Grand Taize became more than just an event- it became a reminder that when young people unite in faith, they become a powerful testimony of hope. In silence, they found strength. In prayer, they found purpose. And in Unity, they found Christ.

IN HONOREM BEATAE MARIAE VIRGINIS | The highlights of the Procession on Wheels, which took place on December 18, 2025, marked the opening salvo of the 190th Fiesta sa Inahan sa Baybay 2025 celebration.

The meaningful act of devotion was solemnly led by Rev. Msgr. Marnito B. Bansig, PC, together with the Team of Pastors, as they joined the faithful in a dignified and prayerful expression of unity and faith. The procession established a reverent and joyful atmosphere for the forthcoming fiesta activities, honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary and formally ushering in the Fiesta 2025 celebrations.

Viva La Virjen!

In support of this urgent moral cause, we in our Diocese will hold our local prayer gathering entitled โ€œPenitential Walk with Mary in Reparation for the Evils in Our Country and the Whole World.โ€

Schedule of Activities:

โ€ข 3:00 PM โ€“ Assembly
Facade of Immaculate Conception Parish

โ€ข 4:00 PM โ€“ Penitential Walk from ICP Baybay to Baybay City Old Plaza (route is posted below).

โ€ข 4:45 PM โ€“ Paraliturgy in Baybay City Old Plaza

โ€ข 5:00 PM โ€“ Holy Mass
Immaculate Conception Parish, Baybay City, Leyte

We aim to gather as many participants as possible โ€” the youth from the parishes of the Baybay Vicariate, students, religious groups, organizations and movements, and the faithful in general who share our desire for the common good.

Participants are asked to bring Candles and wear White. Visible streamers or Placards denouncing the present evils in our country may also be brought.
___________________________
This gathering is not merely a protest; it is a moral imperative rooted in the Gospel call to justice and in the Churchโ€™s unwavering commitment to the common good. Corruption robs the poor of their dignity, undermines our democracy, and mocks the sacrifices of our forebears. Together, under the banner of faith and patriotism, we can turn the tide.
