Yesterday, hearts gathered as one in faith and silence at the Vicarial Grand Taize Prayer held at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish- Caridad, gathering the youths from the 7 parishes of the Vicariate of Baybay. More than 100 young people came together as one community, setting aside noise, distractions and the busyness of life to enter into a sacred space of silence, worship, and deep reflection. Through the gentle chants, candlelit atmosphere and moments of stillness, the hearts of youth were drawn closer to God and to one another.
The Gospel reflection by Fr. Jerome T. Dejarme highlights that Lent is a season for resisting temptation and fostering personal transformation. It emphasizes the need for disciplined prayer and intentional silence to hear God amidst distractions. The youths are encouraged to take concrete actions during Lent, such as forgiving others, serving selflessly, letting go of unhealthy habits, being present in the Eucharist, and sharing Christ's love within their communities.
The Vicarial Grand Taize became more than just an event- it became a reminder that when young people unite in faith, they become a powerful testimony of hope. In silence, they found strength. In prayer, they found purpose. And in Unity, they found Christ.
