PENTECOST SUNDAY
— The Breath and Kiss of God —

In the Gospel of John 20:19–23, the disciples were locked inside a room out of fear. Suddenly, Jesus appeared among them, breathed on them, and said: "Receive the Holy Spirit." This simple gesture contains the entire mystery of Pentecost.

Pentecost is the fulfillment of what God began from the very beginning — just as in Genesis, when God breathed life into dust and man came alive. The same thing happened to the disciples: they were dead in fear, but when Jesus breathed on them, they lived again. At its deepest heart, Pentecost is a new creation.

The Fathers of the Church described the Holy Spirit as "the Kiss between the Father and the Son" — the personal expression of God's love, who is Himself a Divine Person. So when Jesus breathed the Spirit upon the disciples, He gave them the very heart of Trinitarian life — the Kiss of Life — and from fear, they went forth with courage into the whole world.

This Kiss was not meant for the disciples alone. We have already received it in Baptism. And at every Holy Mass, we receive Jesus Himself in the Eucharist — the most intimate and personal presence of God in our lives.

This is why Pope Benedict XVI said:
"The Eucharist is a 'Perpetual Pentecost,' because in every Holy Mass we receive the Holy Spirit who unites us ever more deeply to Christ and transforms us into Him."

On this Feast of Pentecost, God offers us a new beginning — the same Spirit, the same Kiss of love — to breathe life into us once more and send us forth into the world with courage and hearts ready for His Gospel.

𝗜𝗸𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗴𝗼 𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗼 𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗸𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗵𝗮𝘆

𝗪𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴- 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗻.. Like Matthias, who was quietly appointed to fill a broken place, each of us is summoned by God not because of our perfection, but because of His purpose. Before we ever sought Him, He already knew our name.

Being chosen, however, carries responsibility. To remain in His love means living with integrity — in our families, workplaces, communities, and yes, even in how we participate in society. Whether we lead or follow, we are accountable to the same commandment: 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘴 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶.

True fruitfulness is never accidental. It grows from unity, from honest relationships, from choosing the common good over personal gain. Whatever role we occupy today — parent, worker, neighbor, or citizen — we are appointed to bear fruit that lasts. Not applause. Not power. But love that remains.

Lord, thank You for choosing us before we ever chose You — not because we deserved it, but because Your love is that extravagant. Like Saint Matthias, may we humbly embrace the place You have appointed for us, even when it comes unexpectedly. Give us the courage to remain in Your love — through faithful relationships, honest living, and a heart turned always toward others. May everything we do today bear fruit that outlasts our own ambitions, our failures, and our fears. This we ask in Your name, who first loved us and calls us friends. Amen.

On this day in 1917, Our Blessed Mother appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima with a message the world still needs today — prayer, penance, and peace.

As we mark this 109th anniversary, let us renew our devotion and trust in Her intercession.

Let us take a moment today to pray the Holy Rosary — even just one decade — and offer it for peace in the world and for all souls most in need of God's mercy.

"𝗛𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀, 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗼𝗱'𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝘆."

Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us! 🙏🙏🙏

“Ang tunay na pag-ibig kay Kristo ay hindi lamang nasa labi;
