STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of the Living God; true, immutable, steadfast, unchangeable, as its author is the Lord Jehovah; that it was written by holy men of old as they were moved upon and inspired by the Holy Spirit (Matt. 24:35; Ps. 119:89; II Pet. 1:9-12). We believe that there is one God (Deut. 6: 4; k. 12:29; Isa. 43:10-11) eternally existent in three disti
nct persons: God the Father (I Cor. 8:6), God the Son (Isa. 9:6; Heb. 1:8; John 1:1), and God the Holy Ghost (Acts 5:3-4); co-identical in being (Gen. 1:22; Ps. 90:2; Mic. 5:2; Heb. 9:4), co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory and living the same attributes and perfection (I Jn. 5:7; Matt. 28:19; Eph 4:6). We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (Jn. 1:1,2; 14:20-28; I Jn. 5:20) in His virgin birth (Lk. 1:25, 26; Matt. 1; 18-25), in His sinless life (II Cor. 5:21; I Pet. 2:22; I Jn. 3:5) in His miracles (Acts 2:22; 10:38; Lk. 4:18), in His vicarious (substitutionary) and atoning death on the cross for men’s sins (I Jn. 2:1-2; I Cor. 3:2; II Cor. 5:21 in His bodily resurrection (Matt. 28:6; Mk 16:16; Lk. 24:6-34 and His appearance before men (Matt. 28:6; Mk. 16:14; Acts 10:40-41; I Cor. 15:4-8; Lk. 24:13-31,34; Jn. 20:11-16) in His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Rom. 8:234; Acts 1:9,11; 2:23; Mk. 16:19; Lk. 24:51), where as our priest (Heb. 2:17; 7:26; 4:14-15), He fulfills the ministry of representative (Heb.9:24) and His personal return to this earth in power and glory to rule (Acts 1:9,10; Lk. 1:31,33; Matt. 16:27; 24:30; 25:31; Mk. 14:62). We believe that man is created in the image and the likeness of God (Gen. 1:26-31) but fell voluntarily in transgression against God Almighty (Gen. 3:1-7) and his only hope of redemption and means of being cleansed is through repentance (Acts 2:38; 3:19) and faith towards he Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21; Rom. 10:9-10) and His precious shed blood on Calvary (Heb. 9:22) that the true believers have the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word (Rom. 8:16; I Jn. 5:13) that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer (Isa. 58:4-5; Matt. 8:17; James 5:14-16). We believe that every true believer of Jesus Christ should be baptized by immersion in water in obedience to His commandment (Matt. 28:19; Mk. 16:16; Acts 10:47; Rom. 5:4) that he should be partaker of the Holy Communion which is the Lord’s Supper, a symbol expressing our sharing the Divine nature of our Lord Jesus (II Pet. 1:4), a memorial of His suffering and death (I Cor. 11:25) and a prophecy of His Second Coming (I Cor. 11:26). We believe that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4 is for all believers (Lk. 11:13) accompanied by the initial physical sign of “speaking in other tongues” as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4; 10:44-46; 9:6) distinct from the “New Birth” (Jn. 3:3) and from the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit which are made available and can be manifested to all believers (I Cor. 12:8-10). We believe that every true believer of Christ should pay his tithes to the church or organization (storehouse) where he belongs as a member (Mal. 3:8-10; Prov. 3:9-10; I Cor. 16:2; Heb. 7:1-11; Matt. 23:23) and to give offerings to the work of the Lord for the propagation of the Gospel (II Cor. 9:1-15; Phil. 4:15-17; I Cor. 9:7-14; Acts 11:29-30) and that God shall prosper all who obey His commandments (Lk. 6:38; II Cor. 9:6; Prov. 11:25). We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling, the Christian shall experience personal holiness of heart and life separate from the world (Rom. 12:1-2; I Thess. 5:23; Heb. 1:3-12; 12:14; Rom. 6:1-11,13; Gal. 2:20; Rom. 8:12-13; I Pet. 1:15-16). We believe that the church of Christ is made up of true born again believers (Jn. 3:3; Eph. 1:22-23; 5:25-32; I Cor. 12:12-14,27) of which everyone is a member of the universal church of Christ, whose names are written in heaven (Eph. 1:22-23; 2:22; Heb. 12:23; Eph. 5:25-27; I Cor. 12:12-14; Lk. 10:20; Rev. 3:5). We believe in the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ; in the evangelization of the whole world; in the edifying of the Body of Christ (Mk. 16:15-20; Matt. 28:18-20; Eph. 4:11-13); in the ministry of the laying on of hands in praying for the sick (Mk. 6:5,16; Lk. 4:40; Acts 28:8) for the baptism in the Holy Spirit (Acts 8:17; 19:6) for the gifts of the Holy Spirit to be manifested (I Tim. 4:14) for blessings (Mk. 10:16; Gen 45:14-15) and for the commissioning or ordaining of men and women for the service of the Lord (Acts 6:6; I Tim. 4:14; 5:22; Nu. 8:10-11; 27:18-23). We believe in the Second Coming of Christ which is imminent and will be visible and which none knows the day or hour; that at that time, the dead in Christ shall rise first and those believers who are still alive till the coming of the Lord will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and be with the Lord forever (Matt. 24:30-36; I Thess. 4:15-17). We believe that there will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works; and that whosoever is not found in the Lamb’s book of life will be punished forever in the lake of fire together with the devil which is the second death (Matt. 25:46; Mk. 9:38-43; Rev. 19:20; 20:11-15; 21:18). We believe that there will be a New Heaven and a New Earth wherein the righteous shall live forever with God (II Pet. 3:13; Rev. 21:1).
