Ave Maria!

With the official memorandum from the CBCP encouraging the faithful to return to what is normal especially the Sunday Masses, most of the church goers are also pleading the Bishops and priests to sanction the first norm of receiving communion by the tongue. Well, in the first place there was no official pronouncement from the church banning the faithful to receive the Lord on their tongue amidst covid pandemic. The first norm (by mouth) never changed. Thus, priests should not deny anyone if they wish to receive the Lord Jesus directly through the mouth most especially if they kneel down upon receiving.

Pope John Paul II emphasizes the importance of guarding against any abuses concerned with the reception of Communion in the hand (along with other possible abuses), but he also recognizes communion by the hand as a valid option and that many of those who โ€œreceive the Lord Jesus in the hand, do so with profound reverence and devotion.โ€ (Dominicae Cenae)

I think to receive the Lord by the hand is relatively less reverent in our culture and at this time of crisis of faith: but only in a very broad sense, as a generalization. It has (here and now especially in America) less of what we might call a "conditioned reverence" than kneeling and by mouth does. Nevertheless, in any event, I still hearken back to interior disposition and what is in one's heart. That's ultimately where it's at, and trumps all else. (FB post of Dave Armstrong)

Repost from last year

Ave Maria!

Let's meet year 2022 with Mary the Mother of God. Why Mother of God?

Analyze this simple Logic:

A.) If Soledad Duterte was the mother of Rodrigo Duterte, and since Duterte is President and Soledad was his mother, then that made Soledad the mother of the Presidentโœ… (but she is not a president)

B. ) If Jesus was God, and Mary was His Mother, then that made Her the Mother of God.โœ… (yet She is not God)

(That sort of logic depends on a principle called the โ€œCommunication of Idioms.โ€ According to that principle, whatever one says about either of Christโ€™s natures can be truly said of Christ himself. Thatโ€™s because His two natures, the divine nature and the human nature, were united in Him. He is One Divine Person and not a human person.)

"We must be willing to die for our faith, even if the Lord does not grant us this honor...Giving life does not only mean being assassinated; giving life, having the spirit of martyrdom, means offering it in silence, in prayer, in the honest fulfillment of one's duty; in this silence of everyday life, giving life a little at a time."
- St. Oscar Romero

I felt sad and pity over a seminarian's shallow criticism against the Tridentine Latin Mass. I try to UNDERSTAND that some of these FUTURE PRIESTS are conditioned to HATE almost EVERYTHING before VATICAN II, under the guise of being "in" with the times. They are trained in the ART OF MODERNISM, the synthesis of all heresies.

Here's my reply to his seemingly 'broadminded' criticism:

1. Calling the Traditional Latin Mass OBSOLETE - Clearly he did not read Summorum Pontificum. Clearly his liturgical professor, based on the very fumes of hell that came out from the seminarian's mouth, did not teach the principles and theology of the Traditional Latin Mass for his students to understand and appreciate it better. Is it because of the lack of time or more a LACK OF INTEREST?

2. Next, he cited Latin as a hindrance to ACTIVE PARTICIPATION citing Sacrosanctum Concilium - Forgive Him Father for he does not know what he is talking about. This is NOT the first time I hear this argument from a seminarian. I heard this countless times even among priests. It is safe to say then that the LITURGICAL FORMATION they received MISLEADINGLY and ERRONEOUSLY taught them that LATIN is a hindrance to ACTIVE PARTICIPATION. This is a grave ignorance of the law! If indeed Latin is a hindrance to active participation, Sacrosanctum Concilium #36 would not have said,

"Particular law remaining in force, the use of the Latin language is to be preserved in the Latin ritesโ€(ยง 1)."

It's funny, seminarians, deacons, priests who taught LATIN as a hindrance to active participation, did not cite this paragraph. Why? Because it refutes their very claim.

The seminarian and his professor might as well read the great St. Pope Pius X's discussion on Active Participation vis-a-vis the promotion of the Traditional Latin Mass since it was this great Pope who popularized this teaching.

3. On the Laity not understanding Latin - Simply read the parallel English or other vernacular translation of the missal.

4. On him being a "Philosopher" and adapting to the changing times - True, the Church in some way adapts to modern times which DO NOT compromise nor go against the Tradition of the Church handed on by Christ.

As a proud Philosopher, he should've have known the basic principles pertaining to TRUTH, GOODNESS, AND BEAUTY which are immutable, universal, timeless, and PRESENT in the Tridentine Latin Mass.

Yan kasi ang hirap pag inuuna ang so-called pastoral INKULTORATION and manipulation of the liturgy, using the mass to promote the CULTURE rather than the culture promoting Christ. Huwag na tayo magbolahan! I won't be fooled by its promoter's POSITION, nor his angelic and smiling face.

5. Is there such urgency in teaching the Tridentine Latin Mass? Definitely and absolutely: the salvation of souls, the preservation of doctrines and the continuity of Tradition.

Breaking News!!!

//Bishops should consider requiring DNA tests or physical examinations to ensure that all seminarians are biological men, said Milwaukee Archbishop Jerome Listecki in a recent memo sent to the members of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).
โ€œRecently, the Committee on Canonical Affairs and Church Governance was made aware of instances where it had been discovered that a woman living under a transgendered identity had been unknowingly admitted to the seminary or to a house of formation of an institute of consecrated life,โ€ said the memo.//
