🤍 LIVE IN TRUTH, ABIDE IN LOVE

In today’s readings and homily, we are reminded of the deep connection between our relationship with God and our relationships with one another. To be denied by someone we love brings deep hurt — and so it is when we deny God. Just as a husband’s rejection wounds a wife, our refusal to acknowledge and follow Him hurts His heart. The prophet Jeremiah knew this pain firsthand: betrayed even by those closest to him, yet he remained faithful and trusted in the Lord.

Saint Paul teaches us that through sin came separation, but through Christ comes restoration. Jesus makes it clear in the Gospel: “Everyone who acknowledges me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father.” Denying God closes the door to grace; acknowledging Him opens it wide. Fr. Niño calls us to live this faith not only in words but in action, through two clear paths:
✅ Live in truth, just as Jesus did — honest, upright, and unafraid to stand for what is right.
✅ Live in love, reflecting God’s own nature through kindness, service, and the corporal works of mercy.

When we choose this way of life, we do not just follow rules — we build a living relationship with our Creator. He promises to hear our prayers, pour out His blessings, and reserve a place for us in His eternal home. This Father’s Day, let it be our prayer: to never deny the God who loves us unconditionally, but to honor Him fully in how we think, speak, and live.

Goodbyes feel heavy when hearts have grown close, yet we let you go with deep gratitude. To Rev. Fr. Earl Castillo and Rev. Fr. Phil Rosales — you were more than shepherds; you became family. You walked beside us in our brightest joys and quietest sorrows, your words lighting our way and your presence wrapping us in comfort. Thank you for every Mass, every gentle counsel, and for the vision you shared in building new mission stations and strengthening our GKK communities. You have not only served us — you have touched our souls, leaving gentle footprints that will never fade.

As you step into new fields of service, we send you forth with our love and prayers. Though you move to new places, the faith you planted and the kindness you showed stay rooted in us. We hold close the truth that parting is not forever — it is only a pause until we meet again. May Our Mother of Perpetual Help guide your steps, keep you safe, and bless your ministry abundantly. The Bread That Makes Us One With Christ — And One Another

‎📖 GOSPEL IN SIGHT

‎“I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so whoever eats me will have life because of me.” — John 6:51–58
‎
‎This Sunday, Fr Earl highlights that the Church gathers to honor the Most Holy Eucharist — the very center of our faith, where Christ gives Himself fully: His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.
‎
‎We receive Communion every time we attend Mass — but the deeper question remains: Does receiving Jesus truly change us? Or has it become something routine, mechanical, and hollow — something we do simply because “it’s what Catholics do”?
‎
‎Physical food sustains our bodies; the Eucharist sustains our souls. But it only works if we truly welcome Christ into our hearts. True reception means allowing Him to shape us gradually, until we think, speak, and act more like Him each day.
‎
‎Two clear signs that Christ truly lives in us:
‎✅ We share His love and live out His teachings in daily life.
‎✅ We strive to overcome sin and break free from habits that separate us from God and others.
‎
‎To prepare worthily and grow deeper in this gift, we are challenged to nurture these three essentials:
‎
1. ‎Cleanliness of Soul — Reconciliation
‎Imagine your bond with God like a rope held between you and Jesus. Sin loosens or breaks that connection; Confession repairs it, drawing you closer and restoring your hold on Him. It is a grace, not just a requirement.
‎
‎ 2. Respectful Disposition — Inward and Outward
We honor the Eucharist through how we dress and how we participate. It is not about expensive or “grand” clothes — but about showing eagerness, love, and reverence, just as we do for important gatherings. We also give our full attention: kneeling, standing, and responding — small sacrifices that echo the great sacrifice Jesus made for us.

‎ 3. Devotion Beyond Mass — Abiding in His Presence
‎How often do we seek Him outside of Communion? Visit the tabernacle or adoration chapels when you can — and let the faith live at home too. Make your home altar a center of prayer, not just your television or material things.

‎
‎💐 A Farewell Message from Fr. Earl
‎
‎This Mass marks the end of my six years of service in this parish. I came to help tend the seeds of faith already planted in your hearts — seeds I pray you have allowed to take root and grow.
‎
‎My wish as I move to another assignment is simple:
‎May the sign of your growth be seen in how you continue to change, serve, and love in Christ’s name.
‎
‎Love your parish, support your priests, and never stop praying and caring for one another — even when challenges or shortcomings arise. Faith is not meant to end when one leader leaves; it is meant to flourish because Christ remains — in the Eucharist, and in you.

☀️ A DAY BRIGHTER THAN FLOWERS: FLORES DE MAYO CULMINATION ☀️

What a truly radiant and glorious day to mark our Flores de Mayo Culmination here at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish! The day shone even brighter because of the genuine smiles and eager participation of the children coming from different GKKs, who gathered to celebrate the Holy Mass and share in the joy of our faith. The celebration was filled with warmth and friendship, with activities that fostered camaraderie, moments of grace through the Sacrament of Confession, and a proud recognition of the children’s achievements. Their lively presentations and dances showcased not just their talents, but how they have blossomed in confidence and social grace.

Indeed, their happy faces made this day far more beautiful than any flower. As we close this month-long devotion, our heart’s desire is that every lesson learned, every prayer offered, and every moment shared will take root in their hearts — helping them grow deeper in faith, love, and virtue, always under the loving care of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. 🙏❤️

Trust Like Mary: Faith Beyond Tradition

In today’s Gospel, religious leaders questioned Jesus with hearts full of doubt, only willing to believe if it served their own gain. As we culminate Flores de Mayo, Fr. Earl reminds us this is far more than tradition—it is a path to grow closer to God through Our Mother of Perpetual Help. Unlike those who doubted, Mary showed us perfect faith: her Fiat was a humble “yes” to God’s plan, trusting completely without condition. She is our model of how to listen, obey, and follow God with a heart free from doubt.

This past month, our children have learned to pray and grow in devotion. To them: may your faith be like Mary’s—trusting God and your parents out of love, not reward, and help others grow in faith too. To parents, catechists, and leaders: thank you for keeping faith formation alive and strong even today. Though our celebration ends, its purpose remains: to love God more deeply and trust Him fully. With Mary as our guide, let us always follow God with all our hearts.
