The formation of a child does not begin and end in the classroom. Before children become students, they are first members of a family. The values they learn at homeโrespect, discipline, compassion, accountability, and the value of every human lifeโhelp shape who they become.
When violence occurs in schools, let us not place the entire burden on teachers. Teachers have a vital role in educating and guiding students, but families and the wider community also share the responsibility of forming young people and creating an environment where peace and respect can flourish.
It takes a home, a school, and a community working together to raise children who choose compassion over violence, respect over hatred, and peace over conflict.
May we ask for the intercession of the Holy FamilyโJesus, Mary, and Joseph, that our homes may become the first schools of love, respect, discipline, and peace, and that our schools may become safe places where every child is valued and protected.
Holy Family, pray for our families, teachers, students, and schools. Guide us in building a culture of peace. Amen. ๐
