THEY ARE CONTINUALLY PUSHED TO THE MARGINS UNTIL TODAY, the Mangyans of Mindoro. Heart-rending to listen to their stories. If we are not careful we may even continue with expressions belittling them, equating their name as a people to be ignorant and uneducated. "Para kang Mangyan" or "Ay! Namangyan ako."

But I am witnessing the power of education and Christian formation as they are now able to stand tall and proud to speak out in leaders' meetings I have attended. Yet, there is so much to do especially the advent of modern technology sweeping the whole wide world and of which they cannot stay untouched. It pains them when their children have lost touch with their own culture.

We continue to listen with the heart. Personally, I pray that as a change agent I may be a living witness of the Divine Mercy with my words and actions.

Common Project: MMF Bible Camp 2022 slated for June 23-26 at the St. Augustine House of Spirituality in Subaan, Socorro, Or. Mindoro.

Vision: Evangelization of the Indigenous Peoples (Mangyans) of Mindoro

Objective: Train Bible Camp Facilitators who will conduct Youth Bible Camps among the Mangyan Youth

SPREADING THE MESSAGE OF THE DIVINE MERCY AMONG THE MANGYANS, the indigenous peoples of Mindoro. In this particular instance, the image of the Divine Mercy was installed in the Granvida chapel of the Tadyawans, a major Mangyan tribe, after a series of recollections to all sectors of the community: youth, adults and kids. The recollection was centered on the MERCIFUL JESUS in Matthew 15:32-38.

The IMAGE OF THE DIVINE MERCY was installed on Good Friday, April 15, 2022 w/ Fr. Ross Heruela, SVD officiating and Mr. Edgardo Cruzado, Chapel President (in shirt w/ yellow sleeves) unveiling the image.
