Thanksgiving Mass | 15th day of the year of Our Lord, 2026 โœ๏ธ๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿป

As Grade 12 perpetualites are set to enter another transition on the road to becoming, the eucharistic celebration presided by Rev. Fr. Rene T. Lagaya, SDB served a beautiful purpose. It was participated in by the Grade 12 perpetualites, their parents, and the teaching and non-teaching staff.

It became a moment to thank the Lord and acknowledge His greatness and faithfulness. It grew into a time to seek His guidance with hope for success and happinessโ€”one that is in accordance with Him and His will.

May we always move forward not only with the eyes, but also with the heartโ€”a heart that is according to the sacred heart of Jesus Christ. โค

โ€œThe only guaranteed success in life, is a heart that is according to the heart of Jesus.โ€

If it is not Godโ€™s will, thus it is not for you.
To know if it is truly His plan, seek His guidance. Take action and when in doubt, pray. It makes us open to Godโ€™s and puts us in contact with the only One who knows for sure what should be done.

If God is truly sovereign and your loving Father, then he can be trusted to work out his purposes and plan for your life. So feel free to rest in his grace.

As the recollection came to a meaningful close, students were led on a journey of reflection, renewal, and self-discoveryโ€”leaving with hearts transformed and spirits renewed.

With the theme โ€œFully Known, Full Loved: A Journey of Self-Discovery,โ€ first year students of FCL 2 gathered in the chapel accompanied by Prof. Jocson Ogaya. Through interactive activities, the first year students were able to know more about their personal characteristics and how they are viewed by other people. They were reminded to accept changes despite rejections by embracing love within themselves. The reflection on the theme was further enhanced by the story of Jesus and Zacchaeus, where students were reminded that the love of God is unconditional. It does not await changes in the person, but rather brings about change in the life of the person.

On the other hand, second and third year students of FCL 4, accompanied by Prof. Jose Jeremy Soldevilla, reflected on the theme โ€œMetanoia: A Journey of Conversion and Renewalโ€ in the Educational Media Center (EMC). Starting from personal prayers, the students were reminded to encounter and confront themselves in order to recognize their personal shortcomings. Through activities such as the Johari Window, the students were reminded of the love of God despite their shortcomings. Inspired by the story of Mary Magdalene, the students were reminded that change in life starts from within.

The recollection concluded with moments of reflection, group sharing, and communal prayerโ€”leaving students united in faith, renewed in purpose, and reminded that they are fully known, deeply loved, and always capable of transformation.

The palms we hold today represent both triumph and humility, reminding us that Christ comes not as a worldly ruler, but as a Savior willing to suffer for our salvation. The same crowd that once shouted โ€œHosannaโ€ would later cry โ€œCrucify Him,โ€ urging us to reflect on the strength of our faith and our true commitment.

May this day strengthen our faith as we enter the holy and meaningful celebrations of Holy Week.

The third day of the recollection invited students into a deeper realization of their purposeโ€”being called not just to serve, but to serve with God. The session opened with a reflective question: This set the tone for an honest encounter with oneโ€™s inner state, reminding everyone that service without connection to God can lead to emptiness.

Through the image of the barren fig tree, students were challenged to reflect on the difference between being busy and being truly fruitful. While many are active and involved, the session emphasized that true purpose is not measured by how much we do, but by the meaning and connection behind our actions. Without God as the source, service can feel hollowโ€”like a tree that appears alive but bears no fruit.

The reflection deepened with the message of Jesus as the Vine, highlighting that genuine fruitfulness comes from remaining connected to Him. Students were reminded that they are not expected to force growth, but to stay rooted in their faith. In a moment of silence, they were guided to ask themselves:

Another powerful insight came from the image of the Good Shepherd, presented as the true model of a servant. Unlike ordinary service, the Good Shepherd leads with love, sacrifice, and deep personal connection. This reminded the students that being a helper of God is not about completing tasks, but about genuinely caring for others, even when it becomes difficult.

The session concluded with a reality checkโ€”acknowledging that service can feel heavy when done without love, prayer, and God. However, when one remains connected to Him, service transforms into something meaningful and life-giving. Day 4 ended with a renewed understanding that true fulfillment is found not in doing more, but in being rooted in God and allowing that connection to bear fruit in the lives of others.

Theme: โ€œMetanoia: A Journey of Conversion and Renewalโ€

Recollection attended by 2nd year students under the FCL 4 course, held at the Educational Media Center (EMC), began with a moment of personal prayer, setting a reflective tone for the day. Led by Prof. Jose Jeremy Soldevilla, the session centered on metanoia or conversion, a change in oneโ€™s way of life rooted in repentance and spiritual awakening. Through biblical narratives such as the story of Jericho, he emphasized that true transformation begins from within and requires openness to change.

The students were guided through a deeper process of encountering and confronting themselves, recognizing both strengths and areas for growth. This was followed by the Johari Window activity, where students worked in groups to explore their open, blind, hidden, and unknown selves, allowing them to better understand how they see themselves and how others perceive them.

Another reflective activity invited the students to recall meaningful life events where they experienced Godโ€™s love and goodness, even amidst their shortcomings. Through the story of Mary Magdalene, the message of unconditional love and acceptance was highlighted, that no matter how sinful one may feel, transformation is always possible through sincere change and openness to Godโ€™s grace.

The session concluded with reflection and group sharing, where students expressed their personal encounters with Jesus and how these moments continue to shape their lives. The day ended with a communal prayer, holding hands as a symbol of unity, followed by a personal prayer, leaving the students with a renewed sense of faith and purpose.

Theme: โ€œFully Known, Full Loved: A Journey of Self-Discoveryโ€

Recollection attended by college students from 1st year class, with morning and afternoon sessions with Prof. Jocson Ogaya as the Recollection Master held at the chapel, guiding them toward self-discovery. The first part focused on understanding themselves and their traits. Through an activity where others described their traits, they also saw how theyโ€™re perceived, revealing qualities they may not have noticed. The speaker praised the students' courage to share who they are and reminded them to grow from rejection and find acceptance.

In the second part, the focus shifted to how God sees them. This was explained through the story of Jesus and Zacchaeus, where Jesus did not wait for Zacchaeus to change before loving him. Through this, the students were reminded that Godโ€™s love is unconditionalโ€”it does not wait for us to change, but instead leads us toward transformation.

The sessions ended with group sharing, where the students reflected on what they discovered about themselves and the lessons they learned from their experience.
