Dear saints, we know that the Church Life is not an organization, but the living of the Body.
In the Lord’s recovery, “the church life” means our daily living together in the reality of the Body of Christ. It’s the practical expression of Eph. 4:16 that all the joints supplying and being knit together. This includes the meetings: Lord’s Day table meeting, prayer meeting, home meeting, gospel meeting. But it’s more than meetings. It’s living in the mingled spirit, calling on the Lord, opening to one another, and being perfected for the building up. To remain in it is to remain in this organic, living Body, not just attend a location.

So no matter what means passing through tests that would push us out and no matter what happens it covers every reason people leave: being offended by a saint, feeling weak or dry, having problems with serving ones, family pressure, job changes, or doctrinal confusion. In the recovery we learn that the enemy’s main attack is to get us out of the Body. Once you’re out of the church life, you lose the supply of the joints, the covering of the Body, and the normal growth in life. The word in the recovery is: the ground of oneness is priceless. Even if there are imperfections, to leave is to leave the stream of life. So we choose to remain, deal with our heart before the Lord, forgive, and go on.

Now, what are the practical ways to remain in the Church Life? How do we remain? First, by turning to our spirit and contacting the Lord daily, 1 Cor. 6:17. Second, by being in the meetings and in the blending, even when we feel low. Third, by not picking up offenses but picking up the cross. Witness Lee often said, “Don’t leave the ark.” Noah’s family stayed inside during the flood. The church life is the ark today. If we remain, the Lord as grace will carry us through every storm, mature us, and bring us into the consummation of the New Jerusalem. Remaining is a decision of our will, but it’s sustained by grace.

1.
I heard the voice of the Lord
Saying, Whom shall I send?
I heard the voice of the Lord
Saying, Who will go for us?
And I said, I’m here, send me, Lord.
I pour out the cost of my life;
My future is vain—my destiny’s Christ;
Christ is everything!
2.
The people who know their God
Will rise up and show strength!
People who thus know their God
Will take action and move!
We will spread You, Lord, through the earth.
Lord, make us faithful to the end,
Our life and our all be utterly spent,
Spent for the church.
3.
Who’ll bring Your kingdom to come?
These whose hearts are burned with fire.
Who will fight the spiritual war?
They descend as mighty ones!
O Lord Jesus, capture our hearts;
Lord make Your desire our desire!
Your worth’s nothing less than all of our life!
Our life’s to bring You back!

Trust in the Lord

When all around you
is falling apart,
when all your problems
are breaking your heart,
when you have trouble
just trying to believe,
don't get discouraged by what you see.

CHORUS:

Trust in the Lord
With all your heart.
Trust in the Lord
With all Your heart.
Do not depend,
Do not depend,
On your own understanding.

When thoughts and worries
are bringing you down,
when troubles rise
and you're starting to drown,
don't be so focused
on temporary things.
Just look away to our Eternal King.

(BACK TO CHORUS THEN BRIDGE)

BRIDGE:

B: Trust in the Lord.
S: Don't be discouraged
by what you see.
B: Trust in the Lord.
S: Don't be so focused
on temporary things.
B: Trust in the Lord.
S: And turn your eyes
to the One we love.
Both: Set your mind
on the things above,
S: 'Till all your troubles fade away!

(BACK TO CHORUS)

CHORUS COUNTERMELODY (optional)

For we live by faith not by sight.
He's the only wise God
Who sees all things right.
He is on the throne
and by His power we stand.

I’ve learned the secret of doing all things
In the Christ who’s my pow’r.
The Lord our Husband, Head, and our dear King,
Longs to listen each hour.
In the fellowship sweet,
Speaking genuinely,
I pour my heart out on Jesus,
Yet more intimately.

He listens! He hears!
Our Love and our Friend.
So tell Him! Oh, tell Him!
He’ll listen again.

Tell Him in sorrow, in your depression.
Speak to Him from the heart.
All disappointments, e’en your frustrations,
Let Him bear every part.
Every worry and woe,
All the tears as they flow,
He then collects in His bottle,
And He treasures them so.

Tell Him your sins and preoccupations;
Not a thing you can’t say.
Speak when in darkness, troubled and anxious,
Don’t withhold one complaint.
As we vent and we cry,
He draws near to our side.
He's never judging but caring
For all things we confide.

Tell Him your joys and all your elations.
He’ll rejoice with you there.
Any event and all situations,
He is longing to share.
He makes all pure in Him,
Just invite Jesus in.
And jealously keep His presence,
What a treasure within!

I’ve handed over my ev’ry burden
To the Savior to bear.
Every confusion, all consternation,
Now He owns and He’ll share.
Now His myst’ry I see,
God is mingling with me.
And every op’ning He’s using
To dispense faithfully.

Oh praise Him, He hears!
My Love and my Friend.
I’ll tell Him and tell Him
Till this age shall end.

Lord, keep my heart always true to You,
Never backsliding, always viewing You,
A heart that is pure that sees only You,
A heart that loves You and treasures only You.
chorus
Your love constrains me to give my all to You.
Lord, I can't help it; my heart is drawn to You.
Oh what a privilege! I give myself to You!
I love You, Lord, dearest Lord.
I love You! I just love You!
2
Lord, keep my love burning brightly for You,
A love never dwindling always hot for You,
A love, shining brighter all the way for You,
A love, so fresh like the day I first touched You.
3
Lord, take my life, I present it to You!
If I had a thousand, I'd pour all on You!
Nothing withholding, my all is for You.
My life and my future, dear Lord, is all for You.
