The annual celebration of the National Council of Churches in the Philippines of the 72nd Ecumenical Easter Sunrise Service will be held on April 4, 2021 from 8 AM onwards. This will be live-streamed on various social media sites. The theme for this Easter is “Kristong Buhay, Diyos ng Pag-asa”. The scripture references is 1 Peter 1:3.

As an ecumenical community, we reflect together the resurrection of Christ as the embodiment of our common hope and action on grave challenges of pandemic, violence in our country. Register at bit.ly/EcuEaster21

Ano nga ba ang mga bagay na hindi natin napapansin ngunit naipagpapalit natin sa Diyos?

“One of the Twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, “What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?” They paid him thirty pieces of silver, and from that time on he looked for an opportunity to hand him over." - John 26:14-16

EARTHLY DESIRE

On the third day of the holiest week, Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus for the thirty pieces of silver as they also celebrate the feast of the Passover together with the disciples.

Kadalasan pinipili natin ang isa sa dalawang bagay ayon sa kung ano mas may halaga. Our needs and wants always battle against each other like constant enemies, presenting themselves to be the right vs. the wrong. Pero minsan kahit alam na natin ang tama, mas pinipili pa rin natin ang mas madali kaysa sa mahirap kahit na ito ay laban sa paningin ng Diyos.

Ano nga ba ang mga bagay na hindi natin napapansin ngunit naipagpapalit natin sa Diyos?

Judas’ desire for easy money clouded his thinking. He forgot that his purpose was to serve God and betrayed Him for earthly riches. But soon he learned that the benefits of sin are but false promises.

Tunay na walang kasiguraduhan ang ating buhay. So, let us suffer and wait for God than enjoy with expectations of empty promises that await purely earthly and temporary desires.

In the end, Judas realizes the consequences of his choice. And he mourned the outcome deeply. He realized that thirty pieces of silver were not worth the value of his soul.

“For what will it profit them to gain the whole world and forfeit their life?” (Mark 8:36)

Pagnilayan natin kung ano sa ating mga nasa ang maaaring maging tuntungan natin sa pag-unlad sa biyaya ng Diyos. Huwag nating hayaang madakip tayo ng ating mga kahinaan at ng kasinungalingan ng mundo. Magpatuloy tayong mamuhay sa Kanyang mga aral at magtiwala sa Kanyang pangako ng tagumpay kapiling Niya.
