A Loving Farewell to Our Beloved Nanay Betty
Our beloved Nanay Betty,
It is difficult to find the right words to say goodbye to someone who has been such a precious part of our lives. Even though you lived a beautiful and long life of 95 years, your passing still feels sudden, and our hearts are filled with sadness.
We may have known that one day we would have to say goodbye, but somehow, we are never truly prepared for the moment when it comes.
Nanay Betty, you have left us with more than memories. You have left us with a legacy of love, kindness, strength, and faith. Your life was a testimony of God's faithfulness through 95 wonderful years. You witnessed so many seasons of life—joys and celebrations, trials and hardships, changes and challenges—and through it all, you remained a beloved Nanay to so many.
Today, we grieve because we will miss you.
We will miss your presence, your smile, your voice, and the simple moments of being with you. We will miss knowing that you were there. There are memories that may bring tears to our eyes today, but someday, we believe those same memories will bring smiles to our faces and gratitude to our hearts.
Your departure reminds us that life is precious and temporary. Psalm 90:10 reminds us, “The length of our days is seventy years—or eighty, if we have the strength.” You were blessed with 95 years—years filled with stories, relationships, experiences, and countless moments that touched the lives of others.
And although our hearts are broken because you are no longer physically with us, we choose to hold on to the hope we have in Christ.
For those who believe in the Lord, death is not the end. Jesus said in John 11:25, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.”
So today, we don't say goodbye without hope.
We say, “Until we meet again.”
Nanay Betty, thank you for the 95 years God entrusted to you. Thank you for the love you gave, the memories you created, and the lives you touched simply by being you.
Rest now, Nanay.
You have finished your earthly journey. You have fought your battles, endured life's seasons, and completed the chapter God allowed you to live.
And to the family and everyone who loves Nanay Betty, may we find comfort in knowing that while we mourn her absence, God remains near to the brokenhearted.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18
Today, our hearts say, “We will miss you.”
But our faith says, “You are now home.”
Rest peacefully in the loving arms of our Lord, Nanay Betty.
Your 95 years may have come to an end here on earth, but the love you planted in the hearts of those who knew you will continue to live on.
Thank you for being our Nanay.
Thank you for your life.
Thank you for the memories.
Thank you for the love.
We love you, Nanay Betty.
Rest in the presence of the Lord. Until we meet again.
