Today is the feast of Saint Mary Magdelane de’ Pazzi.
Saint Mary Magdelane de’ Pazzi (1566–1607) was a noblewoman of Florence who became a Carmelite nun. As a contemplative, she is remembered for her fervent love of the Eucharist, her raptures regarding Divine Love, and her sharing in the sufferings of Christ. She was canonized by Pope Clement IX in 1669. She is the protectress of the Third Order of Carmelites.
FEAST DAY PRAYER TO ST. MARY MAGDALENE DE PAZZI
O God Our Father, Source of Love and Unity, who in the Blessed Virgin Mary gave us a model of Christian life, grant us, through the intercession of St. Mary Magdalene de Pazzi, to persevere in listening to the Word, to become a heart alone and a single soul around Christ the Lord. He who is God, and lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen
O God, Lover of holy virginity, who didst deign to adorn Thy virgin with many celestial graces, and didst enkindle in her heart the fire of Thy love, spur us on to the imitation of the holy purity and ardent love of her whom we venerate today. Through Our Lord, Jesus Christ, thine only Son, who livest and reignest in union with the Holy Spirit fo all eternity. Amen.
