Paul said that we must not only put to death our sinful desires but also '๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐ข ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐'. To "put away" means to remove something that no longer belongs to us, like taking off dirty clothes. We must intentionally remove the behaviors that do not match our new identity in Christ. We are called to put off our old self and put on our new self.
Because Christ has already conquered sin, we have the power to reject it. Paul specifically tells believers to put away anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk. We must not be identified by these attitudes because they do not reflect the identity of someone who has been changed by Christ.
