As we enter the Lenten season, a gentle reminder NO CLAPPING in the Holy Mass.

The practice of refraining from clapping during Lent in the Holy Mass stems from the solemn and penitential nature of the season. Lent is a time of reflection, repentance, and preparation for the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. By avoiding clapping or celebratory gestures, the liturgy maintains an atmosphere of reverence and introspection, emphasizing humility and spiritual discipline. This practice helps the us faithful to focus on the sacred mysteries and the call to conversion during this holy season.

As a sign of communion and sacrifice let us instead reflect in silence the passion of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

CIRCULAR FROM THE BISHOP OF ANTIPOLO

The Bishop of Antipolo, Most Reverend Ruperto Cruz Santos, has released a Circular regarding the Fees for Funeral Masses and Blessings.

The Circular states that there will be "No fixed fees for Funeral Masses and Blessings" instead, all the Parishes under the Diocese will "rely on the generosity of the Parishioners through donations", effective immediately.

𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐑𝐀𝐘𝐄𝐑 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐅𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆

Pope Francis has declared Friday, October 27 to be an International Day of Prayer and Fasting intended for peace in the wake of increasing global conflicts. In particular, the lasting discord between Israel and Palestine and the continuous war in Ukraine. In the essence of spiritual unity, this day will be dedicated as an interfaith vigil for the men, women, and children being mercilessly persecuted at this time.

This day is not only to show solidarity with the people who are affected but it is also a source of hope in this world that is plagued by strife. People have lost lives and have been displaced. Property and livelihoods were destroyed.

By committing ourselves to take part in this event, it will not only keep us in tune with God, who is the fountain of grace and mercy, but it will also translate our faith into action. For in doing so, we are acknowledging our need for Him and His help, guidance, and protection of those who need them the most.

POPE FRANCIS has appointed BISHOP Ruperto C. Santos, DD. of Balanga as THE NEW Bishop of Antipolo

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral ministry of Bishop Francis De Leon, Therefore, Bishop Francis will be the Apostolic Administrator until the Canonical Installation of the new Bishop of Antipolo.

Bishop Ruperto Cruz Santos was born on 30 October 1957 in San Rafael, Bulacan, in the diocese of Malolos. He attended courses in philosophy and theology at the San Carlos Seminary, and was ordained a priest on 10 September 1983 for the archdiocese of Manila.

After ordination, he first served as deputy parish priest of the Immaculate Conception in Metro Manila, chaplain of the Pasig Catholic College in Metro Manila (1983-1986), and parish priest in Maybugna (1986). He was awarded a licentiate in history from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome (1987-1990), and went on to hold the offices of professor of Church history at the San Carlos Seminary of Manila (1990-1995), and superior and subsequently rector of the Pontifical Filipino College in Rome.

He was appointed bishop of Balanga on 1 April 2010, and received episcopal consecration the following 24 June.

Within the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, he is regional representative in the Permanent Council, chairman of the Commission for the Pontifical Filipino College, and vice-chairman of the Commission for the pastoral care of migrants and itinerant people.
