Grateful to God for another Sunday together as a church family.

Thankful for the food we shared, the laughter around the table, and the good fellowship we enjoyed. We’re blessed by what God provides and by the people He has given us to share it with.

James teaches us that trials are not wasted in the hands of God. The testing of our faith produces endurance, and endurance shapes us into people who are more mature, steadfast, and dependent on Him.

We may not understand the reason behind every difficult season, but we can trust the One who is with us through it. When we lack wisdom, we ask God. When we feel weak, we depend on Him. When the trial becomes difficult, we endure by faith.

Trials do not always mean that God is far from us. Sometimes, they become the place where we discover just how faithful He is.

Faith is not simply trusting God when He changes our situation. Faith is trusting Him even when the situation has not changed.

So let us not waste our trials by allowing them to make us bitter or hopeless. Let them draw us closer to God, deepen our faith, strengthen our endurance, and teach us to trust Him more completely.

And when the journey is difficult, remember the promise:

“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial.” - James 1:12

The trial will not last forever, but the faith formed through it will have eternal value. Keep trusting. Keep enduring. God is still at work.

Sa Isaias 45:5–7, gipaila sa Diyos kung kinsa Siya: “Ako ang Ginoo, ug walay lain.” Dili lang kini pahayag nga Siya ang Diyos. Kini usa ka pahinumdom nga Siya ra ang atong saligan ug Siya ang adunay dakong gahum sa tanan. Wala’y laing dios, gahum, o panghitabo nga makalabaw Kaniya.

Sa verse 7, giingon nga Siya ang naghimo sa kahayag ug kangitngit, kalinaw ug katalagman. Kinahanglan nato kini sabton sa husto. Wala kini magpasabot nga ang Diyos mao ang tinubdan sa sala o kadautan. Ang punto mao nga bisan ang mga panahon sa kagubot, kalisdanan, ug paghukom dili gawas sa Iyang pagka Dios. Ang tawo usahay maghunahuna nga kung lisod ang kinabuhi, tingali wala na ang Diyos. Pero kini nga passage nag-ingon nga dili ingon ana. Ang Diyos nagpabilin nga Ginoo bisan sa panahon nga kangitngit ang atong nakita.

Mao nga kung moabot ang pagsulay, dili dayon nato kinahanglan mangutana, “Ginoo, nganong nahitabo man ni?” Dili sayop mangutana, pero kinahanglan mas labaw nato pangutan-on, “Ginoo, unsaon nako pagsalig Kanimo samtang naa ko ani nga kahimtang?”

Kay usahay, dili ihatag sa Diyos ang tubag nga atong gipangita. Apan Iyang gitudloan kita nga mosalig Kaniya. Ang pagsulay mahimong gamiton Niya aron ipakita kung asa gyud nakabase ang atong pagtuo. Mahimo kitang mawad-an og mga butang nga atong gisaligan, apan pinaagi niini masabtan nato nga ang Diyos mismo ang atong pinakalig-on nga saligan.

Dili tanan nga pagsulay pasabot nga gisilotan ta sa Diyos. Dili usab tanan nga kasakit kinahanglan nato dayon masabtan. Apan isip mga magtutuo, makasalig ta nga walay usa ka kahimtang nga labaw sa kahibalo, gahum, ug katuyoan sa Diyos. Sama sa Roma 8:28, Siya makahimo sa pagtrabaho sa tanang butang alang sa kaayohan sa mga nahigugma Kaniya.

Busa, kung naa ta sa panahon sa pagsulay, ayaw undang sa pagtuo tungod lang kay wala pa nimo makita ang tubag. Ang pagtuo dili kanunay nag-ingon, “Nasabtan nako.” Usahay ang pagtuo nag-ingon, “Wala ko kasabot, pero mosalig gihapon ko sa Diyos.”

Ug mao na ang atong makuha gikan sa passage: ang Diyos dili lamang Ginoo kung maayo ang atong kahimtang. Ginoo gihapon Siya bisan lisod na, kung wala pay tubag, ug kung murag ngitngit ang atong giagi-an.

Dili nato kontrolado ang tanan nga mahitabo sa atong kinabuhi. Pero ang atong kinabuhi anaa sa kamot sa Dios nga nagkontrol sa tanan. Mao nga padayon ta. Lahutay ta. Mag-ampo ta. Ug labaw sa tanan, mosalig ta sa Diyos.

Dili nato kinahanglan masabtan ang tanang gitugotan sa Diyos aron mosalig Kaniya. Kinahanglan lang nato mahibaloan nga Siya ang Ginoo, ug Siya nagpabilin nga matinud-anon hangtod sa katapusan.

Efeso 6:18–20

Gipahinumdoman kita nga dili nato kaya ang espirituhanong pakigbisog pinaagi lang sa atong kaugalingong kusog. Bisan pa og gisul-ob na nato ang tibuok hinagiban sa Dios, kinahanglan gihapon nato ang pag-ampo, pagbantay, ug paglahutay.

Ang pag-ampo dili lang kay mangayo ta para sa atong kaugalingon. Gitawag kita sa Dios nga mag-ampo alang sa tanan, alang sa mga nangaluya, sa mga nag-antos, sa atong mga kauban sa pagtuo, ug sa mga nagpadayon sa pag-alagad.

Nindot hunahunaon nga bisan si Pablo nangayo og pag-ampo alang sa iyang kaugalingon. Dili siya nangayo nga mawala ang iyang mga kalisdanan. Nangayo siya og kaisog aron magpabiling matinud-anon sa pagpahayag sa Pulong sa Dios nga walay kahadlok.

Mao usab kini ang atong pahinumdom: dili nato kinahanglan atubangon ang tanan nga kita ra. Mag-ampo kita alang sa usag usa, magtinabangay sa pagdala sa mga kabug-aton, ug magpabiling lig-on diha kang Cristo.

Kay usahay, ang pinakadakong tabang nga atong mahatag sa usa ka tawo dili tambag o tubag, kundili ang pagdala kaniya ngadto sa Dios pinaagi sa pag-ampo.

SUNDAY SERVICE | Mark 10:46–52
"Don’t Let the Opportunity Pass You By"

Bartimaeus was blind, but he could hear that Jesus was passing by. He could not see the One who could change his life, yet he recognized the moment and cried out. When others tried to silence him, he cried out even louder.

He understood that an encounter with Jesus was an opportunity he could not afford to miss.

Sometimes God brings moments into our lives that demand a response. A conviction from His Word. A call to obey. An opportunity to forgive, to serve, to surrender, or simply to draw nearer to Him. We may not always know how long that moment will remain before us.

Bartimaeus did not wait for a more convenient time. When Jesus called, he left what was behind and came to Him. And after receiving his sight, he followed Jesus.

John 9:2 reminds us that we should not measure God's purposes by what our eyes can see. What looks like a limitation may become an opportunity for God to display His work.

May we have eyes to recognize what God is doing, ears to hear when He calls, and a heart willing to respond. Some moments are invitations from God. Don’t let them pass you by.

What a blessing to be part of our Dorcas Women’s Ministry Evangelism Training at Mindanao Biblical Seminary, Calagdaan, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur.

We are grateful to God for this opportunity to be equipped, strengthened, and reminded of our calling to share the Gospel. May what we have learned be lived out through our words, our actions, and our lives as we serve wherever God leads us.

All glory and honor belong to God alone. 🙏

BIBLE STUDY | JOSHUA MEN’S & DORCAS WOMEN’S MINISTRY

Psalm 107:2 | “Let the redeemed of the LORD say so.”

Our Bible study centered on this powerful reminder: those who have been redeemed by the Lord have a story to tell about His goodness and saving grace.

Psalm 107:2 calls the redeemed to speak about what the Lord has done. Our redemption is not something we should take for granted. It reminds us of where God has brought us from and points us back to the One who rescued us.

As we connected this passage with Romans 10:13–14, we were reminded that people need to hear the message of Christ so they can believe and call upon Him. The Gospel is meant to be shared, and the message we carry is not about us. It is about Christ.

In 2 Corinthians 5:18, 20, we learned that through Christ we have been reconciled to God and given the ministry of reconciliation. We are called to represent Him and make Him known.

Acts 4:29 reminds us to ask God for courage to speak His Word, while 2 Timothy 2:24 teaches us to carry that truth with kindness, patience, and a heart willing to teach.

Together, these passages reminded us of our purpose: we have been redeemed, reconciled, and entrusted with the privilege of making Christ known. Jesus is at the heart of the Gospel, and everything we do should ultimately point people to Him.

May our lives never lose sight of what the Lord has done for us. May we remain faithful to His Word, ready to speak of His goodness, and willing to be used by Him wherever He places us.

Grateful for another meaningful time in God’s Word and thankful to Ptra. Thelma Arreza for guiding us through this study.

We are the redeemed of the Lord. May we never stop saying what He has done.
