﷽ | 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐨 𝐝𝐞 𝐙𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲
𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐤𝐮𝐦 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡𝐢 𝐖𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐡!
The 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐨 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐦 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐋𝐔𝐌𝐒𝐀) extends our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the recent tragedy at Ateneo de Zamboanga University. We also extend our prayers and support to the students, faculty, staff, and the entire Ateneo de Zamboanga community who have been deeply affected by this heartbreaking incident.
We strongly condemn all acts of violence, especially those that take place in spaces meant for learning, safety, and growth. No student, teacher, or member of a school community should have to experience such fear and loss.
In times of grief, we call for compassion, understanding, and responsible discourse. Accountability must be upheld for individual actions, while ensuring that our response remains grounded in compassion, respect, and unity. We must continue to stand against violence without allowing tragedy to become a cause for hatred, discrimination, or division among communities.
As a student organization, 𝐋𝐔𝐌𝐒𝐀 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝𝐲. We stand for peace, respect, compassion, and the safety and dignity of every individual, regardless of faith or background.
May Allah grant mercy to those who have passed, healing to those who were injured, comfort to the bereaved families, and strength to the entire Ateneo de Zamboanga community during this difficult time.
