✝️ Feast of Saint Bartholomew, Apostle

August 24

There’s something quietly beautiful about how Nathanael is called.
He isn’t chasing Jesus — he’s just sitting under a fig tree, doubtful even, when Christ sees him first and names his heart as sincere.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.” — John 1:51

Maybe faith often begins this way — not in grand searching, but in being truly seen.

Saint Bartholomew went on to give his whole life in witness to that encounter.

Where in your life is Christ quietly waiting to be recognized today?

🙏 Saint Bartholomew, pray for us.

Jesus didn’t ask the crowd’s opinion of Him — He asked His disciples, “But who do you say that I am?” That question is still personal today. It’s not enough to know what others say about Jesus; each of us has to answer for ourselves.

Peter’s answer — “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God” — wasn’t something he figured out on his own. It was revealed to him. And on that faith, imperfect as Peter was, Jesus built His Church.

That’s a comfort. God doesn’t wait for perfect people to do great things. He builds on faith, even faith that stumbles. The same Church founded on Peter still stands today — because it was never held up by human strength, but by God’s promise.

Reflection: If Jesus asked you today, “Who do you say that I am?” — how would you answer, not with words you’ve memorized, but with what you truly believe?

🙏

🌹 Today, August 22, the Church celebrates the Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

This feast, established by Pope Pius XII in 1954, comes exactly eight days after the Assumption — reminding us that Mary, who was taken body and soul into heaven, now reigns as Queen alongside her Son, Jesus Christ the King.

Mary’s queenship isn’t one of power and glory in a worldly sense, but of humility, love, and intercession. She who said “yes” to God with total surrender now reigns as our loving Mother, always pointing us to her Son.

“Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy…” 👑✨

✝️ Today’s Gospel: Matthew 22:34-40
Memorial of Saint Pius X, Pope

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind… and your neighbor as yourself.”

Jesus reminds us today that everything — every commandment, every law, every good work — flows from one simple truth: love God, love others.
Not as two separate tasks, but as one way of life.

Today we also honor Saint Pius X, known for his humility and deep love for the Eucharist.
May his example inspire us to live out this Gospel of love in our daily lives.

Join us for Mass today at 5:30 PM.
Come and celebrate God’s love with our parish family! 🙏⛪

🕊️ Aug 20 | St. Bernard, Abbot & Doctor of the Church

“For many are called, but few are chosen.” — Mt 22:14

St. Bernard said “yes” to God with his whole life—teaching, praying, and loving the Church.

Today’s Gospel reminds us: God invites everyone to His feast, but we must wear the “wedding garment” of faith, obedience, and charity. Many hear the call; few truly stay faithful.

Let us ask St. Bernard to help us answer God’s call with courage—and to stay at the table, not as guests in name only, but as disciples who live what we believe and live it daily.
