🌊🕯️ WHEN THE STORMS COME, KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS. 🕊️
Tonight, the Parish Youth Coordinating Council officers and members (PYCC) gathered for our Monthly Taizé Prayer at the Mother of Perpetual Help Chapel, Bilayong, Sta. Cruz, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.
In the stillness of the night, through prayer, silence, Scripture, and the gentle melodies of Taizé, we were reminded of the Gospel today: Jesus walks upon the stormy waters, and Peter dares to step out of the boat because he trusts in the Lord.
But when Peter becomes afraid and takes his eyes away from Jesus, he begins to sink. And when he cries out, Jesus reaches out His hand.
🌊 Like Peter, we too have our own storms.
As young people, we sometimes face doubts, fears, pressures, disappointments, and uncertainties about our future. There are moments when we feel like we are sinking.
Yet tonight, the Lord reminds us:
“Do not be afraid. Keep your eyes on Me.”
Faith does not mean that the storms will never come. Faith means knowing that Jesus is with us in the middle of the storm. And when our strength is no longer enough, His hand is always ready to reach out to us.
Tonight’s Taizé prayer became a beautiful moment to pause from the noise of life, to breathe, to listen, and to place our storms before the Lord.
🙏 Thank you to all the Chapel Officers and Parishioners of Bilayong, headed by their Chapel President, Sis. Lourdes B. Nabong, for warmly welcoming us and opening the chapel for this meaningful gathering.
Our sincere gratitude also goes to the Chapel Youth Officers and Members, headed by Regan D. Siva, for your support and participation.
And to all the young people who joined tonight’s prayer, thank you for choosing to be present, to pray, and to journey together in faith.
May we always remember:
🌊 When the storm is strong, look to Jesus.
🕯️ When fear takes over, pray.
🙏 When you feel like sinking, reach out to Him.
❤️ And when He calls, have the courage to step out in faith.
Because the storm may be around us, but Jesus is with us.
