Last Saturday, July 25, members of young adults and youth spent their weekend playing pickleball, surrounded by tall greenery within the Phividec Compound in Brgy Sta. Cruz, Tagoloan. Despite the weather forecast warning for rainfall, we enjoyed playing on the dry court until the sun went down and the bright moon rose. Even though most of us were beginners in the sport, we easily adapted to it thanks to the guidance of Kuya Kevin and Ate Gillian Mugot.

After our pickleball, Tito Jun and Tita Sally Mugot generously hosted our dinner with scrumptious ๐™œ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™–๐™ฉ๐™–๐™–๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™ข๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™œ๐™œ๐™ค then we had a small catching up discussion with everyone.

This day was spent full of laughter and recollection, which would not be possible without God's blessings. Truly, the good weather, abundant resources, aligning of schedules, and safety in our travels have given us an opportunity to gather and experience this wonderful day.

Our trip to Claveria last June 12-13, 2026 was a deeply fulfilling escape, blending spiritual renewal with natural wonder. The experience opened with an uplifting God-centered program, filled with heartfelt singing that perfectly matched the area's cool, soothing climate and calming views. Aside from that, we also shared a meaningful youth and young adults activity, sparking deeper connections and lifelong bonds. The highlight of the journey was the next dayโ€™s trek through nature. Every moment of the hike was pure joy, culminating in a visit to a crisp, freezing spring. Personally, fully immersing myself in the breathtaking environment made this unforgettable adventure my absolute favorite part of the entire trip.

Over the weekend of April 26โ€“27, 2026, the refreshing hills of Jilas Smallville in Claveria, Misamis Oriental, became a place of praise, learning, and meaningful fellowship. Music ministry teams from various GCI church areasโ€”including Butuan, Iligan, Villanueva, and Cagayan de Oro Cityโ€”gathered for an inspiring and enriching Music Team Workshop.

The workshop provided a wonderful opportunity for spiritual growth and practical training, focusing on four essential areas of development for every worship leader and musician. The sessions were led by Ptr. Aron Tolentino and his wife, Joyce Tolentino:

Becoming a Theologian โ€“ Recognizing that a right understanding of God leads to true worship. Participants explored what it means to keep worship firmly centered on Jesus Christ.

Becoming a Disciple โ€“ Learning to root musical gifts in a life of daily devotion and faithful discipleship, following Jesus closely while leading others into worship.

Becoming an Artist โ€“ Honoring God by continually developing musical skills, embracing creativity, and offering Him our very best.

Becoming a Leader โ€“ Growing in humility, clarity, and grace as servant leaders within our congregations and ministry teams.

The workshop extended beyond classroom-style learning. Through the guidance of Ms. Melody Parane, participants engaged in hands-on choir and vocal training sessions that covered breathing techniques, vocal blending, and harmony. These practical exercises equipped attendees with valuable skills and insights that they can bring back to their local congregations and share with fellow musicians and worship leaders.

Beyond the lessons and training sessions, one of the most meaningful aspects of the weekend was the fellowship shared among participants. Whether over meals, through conversations about ministry experiences, or during moments of laughter beneath the evening sky, the gathering strengthened the bonds between our sister churches. It served as a beautiful reminder that, though we serve in different locations, we are one body in Christ, united in worship and mission.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who traveled, prayed, and contributed their time and energy to make this workshop a success. Please continue to pray for our worship leaders and musicians as they faithfully serve their congregations, leading others into the presence of the Father, through the Son, and by the Holy Spirit.
