Lapasan Baptist Church

Lapasan Baptist Church Lapasan Baptist Church - A Church with a Heart for God and a Heart for People. We have seen God’s faithfulness and love through all these years.

Lapasan Baptist Church was founded on March 1986, a month after Missionary Bruce and Jeanne Rice came to Cagayan de Oro from United States on February 13, 1986 during the shaky political situation of the country – the 1986 EDSA Revolution. The Bible study started as the Golden friendship Bible Study Group in a rented house beside the Lapasan plaza, Cagayan de Oro City. After over a year on April 1

987, the Bible study Meeting was formally organized into Lapasan Baptist Church with 25 charter members. To date, it has a congregation of 1000 – 1200 persons on Sunday Morning worship services. The ample supply of His grace is apparently seen in every ministry of this assembly even to each one of us who composes His local body. Lapasan Baptist Church is God’s gift to us. After Salvation, it is God’s desire to see us grow in His grace daily. Our own personal relationship to God, vital as that is, is not sufficient to produce spiritual maturity and endurance in the race being set for us. Relationships within the unified, spirit-filled body of believers (the real church) are essential for growth and for maintaining our individual faithfulness to the Savior. Sometimes, we would rather not involve in church life, thinking it is easier to go alone. But Christians who neglect church services and its ministries miss out on all the benefits. Let’s remember that God in His Wisdom has united us for strength.

Marking 39 years of ministry, Lapasan Baptist Church celebrates God's enduring providence. This anniversary was made even more significant by 62 first time individuals accepting Christ as their Lord and personal saviour. We reflect on this journey with gratitude, as the Lord continues to prove that His faithfulness knows no bounds. Happy 39th Year Anniversary, LBC!

Trials may feel heavy in the moment, but they are shaping our character, deepening our faith, and building the strength we’ll need for the future.

Even when life feels like a mess, God is still at work.

You may not see the pattern now, but He sees the full picture.

What feels broken or confusing to you is being carefully woven into something meaningful by His loving hands.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” — Romans 8:28 (KJV)

You are not forgotten, and your story is not over.

Keep trusting Him—and don’t miss a church service. It’s where our messy hearts are reminded of God’s perfect plan.

“Brokenness is only a season, not a destination.” — Sir Ferdinand Andales

F.A.I.L.—this word often carries a negative connotation, but for others, it becomes a powerful reminder: it can stand for First Attempt In Learning. Life isn’t about doing everything perfectly, but about rising every time we fall.

In today’s sermon, we were reminded of Jacob’s story—a man who deceived others, including his own twin brother. Yet, despite his past, God restored him and gave him a new identity. This message spoke deeply to the reality that our failures do not define us—God’s grace does.

We also had the privilege of witnessing the commencement ceremony of Lapasan Baptist Christian Academy during the afternoon service. As these young graduates take the next step toward maturity, we pray they carry with them the biblical principles they’ve learned—truths that will anchor them through every season of life.

Through it all, God deserves all the glory for what He continues to do in our lives—both as church members and students alike.

Don’t miss out on what God is doing in our church family. Each service is an opportunity to grow, be encouraged, and experience His transforming grace. See you at our next church service!

"Tough times reveal real commitment" - Pastor Ronald Joel Blanco, Grace Christian Baptist Church

As a church, we've faced our own "Euroclydon," and though many have abandoned ship, God's grace continues to strengthen those who remained—guiding us forward until we see the sun and stars.

During our church anniversary, we not only received inspiring messages about "Commitment", but also had sixteen(16) new visitors who heard the message of salvation and accepted Christ today.

Just as God reassured Paul with "Fear not" in Acts 27:24, the same God is with us today—the God of Wonders.

The Almighty has, does, and will continue to use us as long as we remain committed to following His will in our lives.

Happy 38th Church Anniversary, Lapasan Baptist Church!

✨ Celebrating 38 Years of God’s Faithfulness! ✨

Lapasan Baptist Church rejoices in God’s goodness as we celebrate our 38th Anniversary!

Through every season, His wonders remain. Just as He parted the Red Sea, brought down Jericho’s walls, and shut the mouths of lions, He is still working mightily today. As we reflect on His faithfulness, we stand in awe of all He has done and trust Him for what is to come.

Join us for a time of worship, thanksgiving, and remembrance as we partake in the Lord’s Supper.

Don’t miss this special day! Invite your family and friends, and let’s celebrate His faithfulness together!

🙏🏼 QUOTE OF THE WEEK 🙏🏼

"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." – James 1:22 (KJV)

Make church a priority!

"We love Him, because He first loved us."-1 John 4:19

God’s love is the greatest love of all—unconditional, eternal, and unchanging.
