I had this one experience when I was preparing my house for my guests who were arriving later that evening for a meeting. That was a week when I had to do one thing to another, go from one place to another, and be with different sets of people. I remembered that I was all alone that time, which also meant I was alone with my thoughts take came along with my tiredness. Moments later, I decided to shake off the quietness, worries, and gloomy vibe that was going around me by listening to worship music.
It was while I was washing dishes that I found myself absorbing the songs that were playing at that time. A burst of energy and contentment came to me and made me sing and dance while wiping dry those same dishes. The lyrics which went, "Sing out my heart; sing out my soul! Do not forget in His mercy, He has set You free!", wiped all negativity away and reminded me of the great joys of giving my life to God. Later on, my guests arrived and the night went on smoothly and on a good note.
I have come to the realization that the joy that comes from God is different from momentary happiness. I am joyful knowing that God has forgiven me, promised to always be with me, and given me a new hope in the life that I am living with Him and for Him. Just like the dishes that I was washing, the Lord washed me clean, wiped away the world's claim on me, and made me a vessel of joy to others. I may not always be able to sing and dance but I will forever strive to joyfully live a life that proclaims: Kay Kristo Buong Buhay Habambuhay!
