YAYONG is a bisayan term meaning "to carry together" or "to help or assist someone in carrying a single heavy load" (Wiktionary). YAYONGAY implies a community helping one another.
UCCP NWMJ is a community of faith. Using UCCP NWMJ YAYONGAY would mean a community of faith carrying each other spiritually in these pandemic times. Our church is part of the Filipino community in a larger context. That is why Yayongay includes our Filipino brothers and sisters. Uplifting each other spiritually in these pandemic times.
Rationale: Covid 19 Pandemic greatly affect our nation until today – economically, politically, and culturally. Our church is not exempted. For more than two months now our every Sunday worship is held in various ways - live stream and “SIMBALAY” (worship at home). But as what our Statement of Faith declared, “WE BELIEVE, that the Church is the one Body of Christ, the whole community of persons reconciled to God through Jesus Christ and entrusted with God’s ministry.” Hence, in the absence of our every Sunday Worship we can and we are still a church. It is very important to connect ourselves as a church in these Pandemic times. This connection will become our source of light and hope in these dark and uncertain times of our nation brought about by the COVID-19. Aside from the efforts of our local churches and Pastors, we need to connect ourselves as a Jurisdiction. The larger faith community we are in the larger source of hope and inspiration because of inspiring stories, best practices, spirit-lifting stories that bond us together in this pandemic times and reflections to be shared by our Conference Ministers, Pastors, and members.
Thus, this page is created for those purpose above. We are encouraging all Church Workers and members within and/or from our Jurisdiction to share short messages (in words or videos) such as: -Inspirational Stories/Testimonies - Reflections - Prayers - Inspirational Quotations/Verses Please include a picture of you.
