Beware of Pride
The Fall of Lucifer
In the Bible, Lucifer was once exalted, beautiful, and full of wisdom. Yet his pride led him to desire God’s throne, exalting himself above his Creator. Because of this arrogance and rebellion, he was cast down from heaven (Isaiah 14:12–15; Ezekiel 28:12–17). Lucifer’s fall is a solemn warning: pride separates, but humility preserves. When the heart turns from God in self-exaltation, destruction follows—but those who walk humbly before God stand firm.
Pride is not just an attitude — it is a spiritual cancer that blinds the heart, hardens the spirit, and separates us from God. The Bible warns repeatedly about the danger and destruction that pride brings. Pride was the very sin that caused a perfect angel to fall from heaven — and it continues to destroy lives today.

1️⃣ Pride is the Oldest Sin in the Bible
Before mankind sinned in the Garden, pride already existed in the heart of Lucifer. Pride originated in Heaven, not on earth.
📖 “For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven… I will be like the most High.”
(Isaiah 14:13–14)
➡️ Pride began with a creature who wanted to be equal with the Creator.

2️⃣ Pride Can Lead You to Backsliding
Pride makes a person unteachable, unreachable, and unwilling to repent. Pride says, “I’m fine,” when the heart is cold and distant from God.
📖 “They refused to obey… and in their rebellion appointed a leader to return to their bondage.”
(Nehemiah 9:17)
➡️ The moment you think you no longer need God — you start drifting away from Him.

3️⃣ Pride Can Destroy You
Pride is self–destructive because it blinds a person to their mistakes and weaknesses.
📖 “He that exalteth himself shall be abased.”
(Luke 14:11)
➡️ Pride builds a throne — only to fall from it later.

4️⃣ Pride Can Cause Division
Whether in church, marriage, family, or friendships — pride refuses to listen, forgive, or submit.
📖 “Only by pride cometh contention.”
(Proverbs 13:10)
