With hearts open to Godโ€™s call, the Saint Philomena Vicariate will be holding its Youth Encounter on May 15โ€“17, 2026, at the ๐‚๐€๐‘๐ƒ๐ˆ๐๐€๐‹ ๐‡๐Ž๐…๐…๐๐„๐‘โ€™๐’ ๐‡๐Ž๐”๐’๐„ ๐Ž๐… ๐๐‘๐€๐˜๐„๐‘, San Jose de Mindanao Seminary Compound, Camaman-an Hills, Cagayan de Oro City.

This grace filled three day encounter is a sacred opportunity for the youth to deepen their relationship with Christ through prayer, reflection, fellowship, talks, and meaningful activities. As one community of faith, we gather not only to know God more deeply but also to respond to His call with generous hearts ready for service and mission.

In a world filled with distractions and uncertainties, may this encounter become a place where young people can experience the love, mercy, and presence of God in a personal and life-changing way. May it strengthen their faith, renew their spirits, and inspire them to become joyful witnesses of Christ in their families, communities, and the Church.

We humbly ask everyone to keep all the participating youth, facilitators, organizers, and volunteers in your prayers. May the Holy Spirit guide every heart throughout this encounter, and may our Blessed Mother continually lead the youth closer to her Son.

Yesterday, April 5, 2026, the VYCC successfully conducted an outreach program in partnership with the ACDO Women Ministry. What was meant to be a Womenโ€™s Month activity became something even more meaningfulโ€”a reminder that empowering and uplifting women is not limited by dates, but is a continuous commitment.

With hearts filled with gratitude, we extend our sincere thanks to everyone who generously offered their time, talent, and treasure for the success of our Holy Week Celebration 2026.

To our beloved Parish Priest and Parochial Vicar; our dedicated altar servers, ever-active Youth Ministers, choir members, lay ministers, documentation team, and church cleaners; the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) and Finance Council; our Mass sponsors; mandated and religious organizations; chapel leaders; lectors; sharers; angels; trainers; volunteers; our faithful parishioners; as well as our Barangay officials, PNP, BFP, AFP, RTA, and all those who served quietly behind the scenes please know that your efforts are deeply appreciated and will never go unnoticed.

Sincere gratitude to all the young servants of the Church who generously gave their time, energy, and talents throughout the recent Holy Week. Through every song, prayer, service at the altar, guidance to fellow youth, and proclamation of the Good News, you have proven that the youth play a vital role in Christโ€™s mission.

Because of your commitment and unity, our celebration became more meaningful and vibrant. Even amid tiredness and sacrifice, you continued to serve with humility and faith showing that true service flows from a heart ready to love and give for God and for others.

The solemn liturgy of Holy Saturday โ€“ the Easter Vigil commenced at San Antonio de Padua Parish โ€“ Nazareth, presided over by Rev. Fr. Roberto โ€œJunโ€ Balsamo Jr., marking the most sacred night of the Church.
The celebration unfolded with the Blessing of the New Fire and Water, symbolizing Christ as the Light who conquers darkness, followed by the Liturgy of Baptism, and the Liturgy of the Eucharist, where the faithful rejoiced in the victory of life over death.
From darkness into light, this sacred vigil reminds us of the hope and new life brought by the Resurrection of the Lord. May this celebration renew our faith and fill our hearts with Easter joy.

On the evening of Black Saturday, Parish Priest Rev. Fr. John Karl Cabaluna, SCJ, presided over the Easter Vigil Mass. The celebration began with the blessing of the fire and the new Paschal candle, followed by the blessing of the water, the renewal of baptismal promises, and the baptism of seven adults.
This celebration reminds us of the light that represents the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through His sacrifice on the cross, we are given His light, which we are called to share with others. It also reminds us that through His resurrection, we are saved from sin and brought from darkness into light.
