Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia! The celebration of the Liturgy of Easter Sunday remembers the resurrection of Jesus Christ, three days after his passion and death. When the Angel of the Lord descended over the Earth and rolled back the tomb's opening to reveal towards Mary and the accompanying women an empty tomb, the very same Jesus Christ, renewed of life and vitality has triumphed over death and descent to the dead. The guards, expecting a body at the putrefaction stage, is face-to-face with a tomb meant to house the King of the Jews.

May we perceive Easter Sunday as a celebration of the ultimate sacrifice of the Lord, and the fulfillment of His promise. His appearance to the apostles over a 40-day-period reinforces His physical reality, being one with us in the mortal world even after death. This triumph over the reality of death is a promise to us of a similar renewal awaiting for us in the Kingdom of Heaven.

May we also remember that our very own deaths may as well become a doorway to resurrections in our lives.

Black Saturday is a day of mourning, the day Jesus Christ was laid in His tomb after His death by crucifixion.

According to Catholic teaching, it was also on this day that Christ descended into hell, opening heavenโ€™s gates for the just who had gone before Him.

In the silence of the sealed tomb, hope rested, waiting for the dawn.

Let us spend this day in
prayer, quiet reflection, and gratitude for the sacrifice that makes the Resurrection possible. ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

"๐•ญ๐–Š๐–๐–”๐–‘๐–‰ ๐–™๐–๐–Š ๐–’๐–†๐–“!" Pontius Pilate exclaimed as he revealed the man named Jesus called "Christ" to the riotting mob outside as - like a master devoid of authority feeding meat to his undisciplined dogs.

"๐•ถ๐–Ž๐–“๐–Œ ๐–”๐–‹ ๐–™๐–๐–Š ๐•ต๐–Š๐–œ๐–˜!" The crowd sings in mockery. All the while the Roman governor of Judea is brought face-to-face with his inadequacy in leadership.

Good Friday is synonymous with the day of suffering. The capture, the mockery in the city center, the exchange for a criminal, the lashing of Christ, and the long trek to Golgotha - now Calvary as what the Roman Legionnaires, who were supposedly in-charge, called it.

Today, we remember the fragility of leadership in Pilate, the danger of emotion in the Jews gathered in the city center, and most importantly the suffering of Christ. As we bear our own crosses in our lives, may we remember that these crosses are not only ours to bear. Lord, bathe the world in your love, we are eternally grateful for your ultimate sacrifice.

On this holy night, we remember when Jesus broke bread, poured wine, and knelt to wash the feet of His disciples. In that moment, He gave us the Last Supper and a new commandment to love one another just as He has loved us.

Tonight, as we gather at the table, may we carry His love not only in worship but also in the way we serve, forgive, and love one another.

As Holy Wednesday unfolds, we remember the dark moment when Judas Iscariot chose to betray Jesus. During the Last Supper, Jesus solemnly said, โ€œTruly, I say to you, one of you will betray meโ€โ€”words that foretold the path of suffering and sacrifice that would lead to Easter. This day, often called Spy Wednesday, reminds us of the reality of human weakness and the consequences of turning away from love and loyalty.

As we reflect on Judasโ€™ actions, we are invited to examine our own hearts. Spy Wednesday calls us to stay faithful, act with integrity, and choose compassion over deceit. In remembering this bittersweet moment, we prepare ourselves for the hope and renewal that Easter promises.

On Holy Tuesday, we remember the withered fig tree that Jesus had cursed the day before. When the disciples saw that the tree had completely withered, Jesus used the moment to teach them a powerful lesson about faith. He reminded them that if they truly believe and do not doubt, even the impossible can happen, and whatever they ask in prayer with faith will be received.

The withered fig tree also symbolizes a deeper warning. Like the tree that appeared healthy but bore no fruit, people may appear faithful outwardly yet lack true trust in God. Through this lesson, Jesus calls us to have a genuine and fruitful faith, one that is not only seen in words but lived through our trust, prayers, and actions.

On Holy Monday, we reflect on Jesus' journey through Jerusalem and prepare ourselves for the Passion through repentance, and asking for guidance to clear our hearts and renew our spirits just as Jesus cleared the Temple of the faults that had corrupted it.
