In this month of August, we honor the young servers of the Altar who are called to serve. From preparing the linens and sacred vessels for the Mass to assisting the priest throughout the celebration, it is the altar server's duty to ensure that the liturgy is celebrated solemnly with devotion and reverence. Being an altar server is more than preparing, assisting, or working quietly in the background during the Mass. It has always been about being a servant of Jesus. Being an altar server is a calling, a way to draw us closer to Christ, the eternal High Priest, through humble service.
