When the Shepherd Bleeds but Still Leads ❤️🩹
“Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15
October is Pastor’s Appreciation Month but for many pastors, it’s not about balloons, tarpaulins, or stage greetings.
It’s about enduring and conquering another season of pouring out while bleeding quietly.
What Does It Mean to Be a Pastor?
To be a pastor means saying “yes” to God even when your heart is breaking.
It means showing up on Sundays with a smile, while on Saturdays you were on your knees crying for strength.
It means feeding people spiritually while sometimes going home emotionally empty.
It’s to carry burdens not just of your own family, but of many families and still say, “The Lord is good.”
A pastor is:
• A watchman who stays awake while others sleep.
• A warrior who fights unseen battles for souls.
• A father/mother figure to the broken who have no home.
• A shepherd who will leave the 99 to find the 1 even if that 1 left by choice.
The Real Struggles of a Shepherd
1. The Weight of Expectations – To always be strong, composed, available, and holy… even when exhausted.
2. The Pain of Misunderstanding – To be judged for decisions made from prayer others never heard.
3. The Loneliness of Leadership – To walk with people who follow the mission, not always the man.
4. The Battle of Discouragement – To preach hope while fighting personal despair.
5. The Reality of Rejection – To love people deeply who may someday walk away without goodbye.
6. The Sacrifice of Family – To serve other families while missing moments with your own.
And yet…
Despite the sleepless nights, silent tears, and unseen warfare the pastor keeps leading, keeps loving, keeps believing… because the Great Shepherd still leads him/her.
So this Pastor’s Appreciation Month
Let’s appreciate not just the title, but the testimony.
Not just the preaching, but the pain behind it.
Not just the leader, but the lover of souls.
Saludo sa Lahat ng PASTOR ni Kristo! 🥰
