Suffering is not always a sign of punishment — sometimes it is God’s voice breaking through our silence. In Elihu’s words, God speaks through pain to capture our attention, correct our direction, and reveal His greater purpose. What feels like interruption may actually be divine communication, calling us back before we fall deeper into harm. Affliction can be a wake-up call wrapped in mercy.
Elihu reminds us that God remains just, purposeful, and fully in control. He corrects to refine, not to destroy; He governs storms we cannot comprehend. When we cannot understand our trials, we can still bow in reverence, trusting the One whose voice thunders over creation. Suffering, then, becomes not an accusation against God — but an invitation to humble trust.
