The Parable of the Sower
Mark 4:1-9 NKJV
1And again He began to teach by the sea. And a great multitude was gathered to Him, so that He got into a boat and sat in it on the sea; and the whole multitude was on the land facing the sea. 2Then He taught them many things by parables, and said to them in His teaching:
3“Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds of the air came and devoured it. 5Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth. 6But when the sun was up it was scorched, and because it had no root it withered away. 7And some seed fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no crop. 8But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
9And He said to them, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
🌟In this parable we will notify 3 things in life must know and 2 characters of a farmer that signifies the life of a person. Those are the following:
3 Things of Point View
1.Farmer - he/she is the receiver, carrier, and channel
2.Seeds - This is the Word of God
3.Soil - This is the heart of a person
1.Farmer - The person who takes responsibility for what he/she received.
The Characteristics of a Farmer are the 2 following
1.Good Farmer
2.Bad Farmer
2.Seeds - This is the Word of God
This is the number one necessity of all people (Matthew 4:4)Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
Some Benefits of Taking the Seeds of God
The Word of God will strengthen life. Because it builds a strong foundation of our faith in God. There is a good effect on the physical being, it brings joy and better perception.
The seeds or Word of God give direction and redirection toward God's original plan. It gives us victory in life.
The Seeds or Word of God is free to all people.
🌟How to Grow the Seeds/Word of God
Share the God's Words-Seeds
Whenever sharing the seed or the word of God. It brings power to seeds it’s like you are getting sunlight, water, and good soil to the listener.
Prayer - to grow the seeds it needs a prayer. Like when we use the seeds and share them with the people the person who heard it will open the heart and the mind of a person.
Testify
We testify because we experience how our life changes through the seeds or Word of God. God waited for His children to testify, and because of God's Words, our character was gradually changed according to His origin and plan. God doesn’t want us to testify on what we have that God gave even on our status and position in life. God wants us to testify who is God in our life.
3.Soil - The Soil signifies the heart of the receiver, carrier, and the person used by God to be the channel of blessing!
There a four kinds of soil or heart in this parable
1.Dry Soil - Dry soil is a self-centered heart
This is the heart of dry soil that needs more attention, love, and compassion because this kind of heart always ignores the Word of God.
2.Stony Soil - this soil is a drastic heart, careless, and self-centered heart.
This is the heart of the stony soil, it needs more attention, love, and understanding.
3.Good Soil but not as good soil - this soil is careless, drastic, self-seeking of recognition, and self-centered heart
This is the mixture of soil that is already inside a church. When the majority of the soil has unwanted plants they dominate the soil and try to contaminate the minority soil to not bear fruit.
4.Good Soil - this soil have full of compassion and Love. Not seeking recognition, not retaliating, have sympathy for the needy person.
1.Some Characteristics of a Good Farmer
Humility - a good farmer acknowledges that he/she cannot do anything without God in his/her life. He/She understands the relationship with God.
Gratitude - A good farmer has a sense of gratitude. He/She always gives thanks to God for what anything has and what the situation has now!
Vision - A good farmer carefully channels the vision of God to save all people.
Live by Faith and Truth - A good farmer lives carefully by carrying out the truth not on the position and not on the status in life.
2.A bad Farmer is the opposite of a good farmer! (see the above paragraph and think of your comparison)
Conclusion
In a Church, all are farmers, whether you are a Pastor, a church Leader or a church member. The question is?:
1.Are you a good farmer who continually cultivates the good soil?
2.Are you a bad farmer who taking advantage of the good soil?
