The OLCP Altar Knights came together to clean and prepare the areas for the upcoming Corpus Christi Celebration on June 7, 2026. With cheerful hearts and a strong sense of service, they worked as a team to make sure the surroundings were clean, safe, and ready for this important event.

This year's celebration is especially meaningful because the Blessed Sacrament will be brought throughout the 14 barangays, allowing more people to witness and participate in this expression of faith. Knowing the importance of this occasion, the Altar Knights gladly offered their time and effort to help prepare the route. While working, they shared laughter, stories, and encouragement, making the activity both productive and enjoyable.

More than just cleaning, this activity was a reminder of the true spirit of volunteerism. Through their hard work and unity, the OLCP Altar Knights showed that service is an act of faith and love. Their efforts helped create a welcoming environment for the celebration and inspired others to contribute in their own way. ALTAR SERVERS' CAMP OUT '26β›Ίβœ¨

The OLCP Altar Knights participated in the Altar Servers’ Camp Out 2026 held at St. Vincent Seminary. They not only represented Our Lady of the Candle Parish, but also proudly represented the Vicariate of St. Thomas. This activity aimed to foster friendship, unity, and fraternity among altar servers from different parishes.πŸ€πŸ’™

The camp out included various activities, especially in sports. The Vicariate of St. Thomas competed in basketball and emerged as champions. It is inspiring to hear that they brought another achievement to the vicariate, especially since they were also champions last year. This back-to-back victory shows their teamwork, dedication, and strong spirit.✨

Today, in the Archdiocese of Jaro, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Anniversary of the Dedication of the Cathedral Church of Jaro.

On May 26, 1965, Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Cathedral was dedicated after it was damaged because of the 1948 Lady Caycay Earthquake and was restored during the time of Archbishop Jose Maria Cuenco. The dedication was also made possible after the freestanding altar was erected to adapt to the reforms brought about by the Second Vatican Council. The dedication was held on the eve of the Centenary of the Canonical Er****on of the Diocese of Jaro on May 27, 1865.

The Solemnity of the Anniversary of the Dedication of the Cathedral Church is an important in the celebration in the liturgical calendar of that particular diocese because it celebrates and honors the role of the Cathedral as the Mother Church of the diocese - the central church where the liturgical life of the people of God is magnified and where the bishop sits and exhorts to the faith as shepherd of the flock God has entrusted to his care.

Increase the spiritual gifts you have given to your Church, that your faithful people may continue to grow and so build up the new and heavenly Jerusalem.
