Strengthening Those Who Accompany Couples Toward Christian Marriage

On August 1, 2026, the Diocesan Ministry for Family and Life conducted its Pre-Cana Facilitators Training and Refresher at the CFC Provincial Mission Center.

The whole-day formation provided our facilitators with renewed knowledge, practical approaches, and a deeper appreciation of their important ministry of accompanying engaged couples as they prepare for the Sacrament of Matrimony. The sessions focused on the dignity of the human person, married love, Christian marriage, communication, family life, marital unity, and the journey of spouses toward holiness. An update on “IVF in the Light of Magnifica Humanitas” was also presented by Rev. Fr. Jestoni Macapas, Director of Ministry for Family & Life, to strengthen the facilitators’ understanding of the Church’s teaching on the dignity of human life and procreation.

Rev. Fr. Edilberto Dela Rosa, Jr., Episcopal Vicar for the Laity, was also present and gave an inspiring message to the participants regarding the importance of their role in the Family Ministry. He emphasized how their service contributes to the preparation of couples for a faithful, responsible, and Christ-centered married life.

In special way, we are grateful to the support of all parish priests. May this formation bear fruit in stronger marriages, Christ-centered families, and communities that faithfully uphold the Gospel of Life.

Rev. Fr. Jestoni T. Macapas, Director of the Diocesan Ministry for Family and Life of the Diocese of Cabanatuan, participated in the Heartbeat–Pregnancy Support Services of Asia International Conference 2026, held on July 23–25, 2026, at the Great Eastern Hotel in Quezon City.

With the theme “LOVE: Heartbeat of Our Mission,” the conference gathered Family and Life ministers, healthcare professionals, counsellors, and pro-life advocates to deepen their knowledge and pastoral skills in supporting women experiencing crisis pregnancies, protecting unborn life, healing families affected by abortion-related trauma, and promoting chastity, sexual integrity, and strong Christian families.

May this meaningful gathering strengthen our commitment to proclaiming the dignity of every human life and accompanying every family with the compassionate love of Christ.

Every life is precious. Every family deserves love, support, and hope.

📍Strengthening Our Mission to Serve Families

The Diocesan Ministry for Family and Life – Diocese of Cabanatuan, led by its Director, Rev. Fr. Jestoni T. Macapas, together with the Core Group, actively participated in the Family and Life Inter-Diocesan Formation organized by the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Family and Life - Regional Coordinators last July 4, 2026 in Antipolo.

With the theme, “IVF in the Light of Magnifica Humanitas: Safeguarding Human Dignity, Marriage, and the Gift of Life,” the formation deepened our understanding of the Church's teachings on the dignity of every human person, the sanctity of marriage, and the beauty of life from conception to natural death.

As we continue our mission in the Diocese of Cabanatuan, we pray that the insights gained from this formation may inspire us to become more faithful, compassionate, and effective servants of families, promoting a culture of life rooted in the Gospel.

Rooted in Eucharistic theology, this message reflects the mystery of Christ’s abiding presence. Just as Jesus remains with His Church in the Eucharist, faithful, self-giving, and unwavering, so too are families called to mirror this covenantal love. To “stay” is not mere endurance, but a participation in Christ’s sacrificial fidelity. In choosing presence over withdrawal, forgiveness over resentment, and communion over isolation, the family becomes a living sign of God’s steadfast love.

In this way, perseverance within the family is not simply human effort; it is grace at work Christ dwelling where love chooses to remain.
