In his homily during the Opening Eucharistic Celebration of the CBCP–Episcopal Commission on Family and Life National Conference at Balanghai Hotel, Butuan City

Rooted in Eucharistic theology, this message reflects the mystery of Christ’s abiding presence. Just as Jesus remains with His Church in the Eucharist, faithful, self-giving, and unwavering, so too are families called to mirror this covenantal love. To “stay” is not mere endurance, but a participation in Christ’s sacrificial fidelity. In choosing presence over withdrawal, forgiveness over resentment, and communion over isolation, the family becomes a living sign of God’s steadfast love.

In this way, perseverance within the family is not simply human effort; it is grace at work Christ dwelling where love chooses to remain.

1st General Assembly ng Ministry for Family and Life (1/24/26)

Isang makabuluhang araw ng pakikinig, pagninilay, at pakikipaglakbay kasama ang mga kinatawang mag-asawa mula sa iba’t ibang parokya ng diyosesis.

Sa diwa ng Synodality (Komunyon–Pakikilahok–Misyon), sama-sama naming pinakinggan ang tunay na kalagayan ng mga pamilya—ang kanilang kagalakan, hamon, at pag-asa.

Maraming salamat sa aming core group, facilitators, at parish couple-representatives sa inyong bukás na puso at tapat na pagbabahagi.

Patuloy tayong maglalakbay bilang Simbahang nakikinig at nagmamalasakit sa mga pamilya.
