I just want to share a simple reflection from Eunice’s preaching yesterday at Jesus Is Alive Cabanatuan City.
One line from Psalm 23 really stayed with me:
“He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.”
So when David said, “He makes me to lie down… He leads me…”
the focus was never the place, it was always the Shepherd.
And this is what really hit me:
Most of the time, we chase the green pastures (blessings, provision, breakthrough),
and we chase the still waters (peace, rest, comfort).
But we forget, we were never meant to find those on our own.
Because Psalm 23 doesn’t say:
“I found green pastures. I found still waters”
It says: “He makes me to lie down… He leads me.”
And here’s where it becomes personal,
This calls for intimacy.
Because you cannot be led from a distance. You cannot recognize His leading if you don’t know His voice. You cannot follow closely if you’re not walking with Him daily.
This is not just about direction, this is about relationship.
That’s why green pastures and still waters are not the goal. Intimacy with the Shepherd is.
And as believers, we know who that Shepherd is—
Jesus Christ, who said in John 10:11 that He is the Good Shepherd.
So maybe the real question is:
Are you chasing provision
or are you following Jesus?
Are you looking for peace
or are you letting Him lead you?
Because when you stay close to the Shepherd,
He will lead you exactly where you need to be—
even if you don’t see it yet.
You don’t have to chase green pastures.
You don’t have to force still waters.
Let Him lead you.
