Flores de Mayo 2026

Flowers may fade, but faith remains. Flores de Mayo is more than a beautiful tradition—it is a living expression of love and devotion to Mama Mary, the mother who continually leads us closer to her Son, Jesus Christ. Through every prayer, every flower offered, and every step in the procession, we are reminded that true beauty is found not in appearance, but in a heart filled with humility, kindness, and faith.
As Catholics, we honor Mary not because we worship her, but because she is the perfect example of obedience and trust in God. In the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Mary is recognized as the Mother of God and our spiritual mother, who intercedes for us and teaches us to say “yes” to the will of the Father. Just as flowers bloom under the light, our hearts also bloom when rooted in prayer and guided by God’s grace.
May Flores de Mayo 2026 inspire the youth to continue living with purity, compassion, and courage in a world that often forgets the value of faith. And like Mama Mary, may we become bearers of hope, love, and light to others.

Santa María, Ina ng Manunubos, bahaginan mo kami ng iyong pagpapakasákit. Ipanalangin mo kaming mga makasalanan na naging dahilan ng pagkapako Niya sa krus, ngayon at sa oras ng aming kamatayan. Amen.

Ang Passiontide Sunday ang simula ng Passiontide, ang huling yugto ng Kuwaresma na nakatuon sa pagdurusa at paghihirap ni Hesus bago ang Kanyang kamatayan sa krus. Tradisyon na ng simbahan ang pagtatakip ng krus at ng mga imahe bilang tanda ng tinatawag na "fasting of the eyes." Upang mas napupunta ang atensyon sa Salita ng Diyos at sa misteryo ng Kanyang paghihirap.

Today, we honor Mary, the Mother of Jesus, who embraced God’s plan with unwavering faith. As the shepherds came in haste to adore the newborn Christ, Mary pondered the wonders of God’s love, keeping them in her heart.

In her, we see a model of trust and devotion—a mother who nurtured the Savior of the world. Through her "yes," she became the Mother of God, guiding us closer to her Son, Jesus.

As we begin this new year, may we, like Mary, open our hearts to God’s grace and walk in faith, glorifying Him in all we do.
