David — “A Heart That Seeks God”

Did you know who David was and what made his relationship with God special?

David was the youngest son of Jesse, a shepherd from Bethlehem. He was chosen and anointed by God through the prophet Samuel to become the future king of Israel. We know him as the young man who courageously faced Goliath, but David was more than a brave warrior and a king. He was a man who deeply sought God.

David’s relationship with God was built through prayer, trust, worship, and dependence. When he was afraid, he sought God. When he was in trouble, he prayed to God. When he experienced victory, he praised God. And even when he failed, he returned to God with a repentant heart.

David’s life was far from perfect. He experienced fear, rejection, pressure, failure, and uncertainty. Yet, through all these experiences, he continued to seek God.

This is what makes David’s story meaningful for us. Seeking God does not mean that we will have a perfect life. It means that whatever we face, we know where to turn.

As Matthew 6:33 reminds us:

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness…”

David teaches us that we should seek God always.

MIDWEEK DEVOTIONAL | MAS-AMiCUS CSUCC

A moment to pause, reflect, and draw closer to God amid our busy academic lives. May His Word continue to guide, strengthen, and inspire us throughout the week.

Seek God. Grow together. Be a light.

Last Wednesday, our dear Sis. Jelaica shared a meaningful message that reminded us where we should run when life gets heavy-not only to people, but most importantly, to Jesus.

To our friends, our family, or anyone we think might understand. Sometimes, we make God our last resort when He was meant to be our first refuge.

As Sister Jelaica reminded us:

Kung kita gikapoy na, atong iduol sa Ginoo tanan, kay ang Ginoo ang pinaka masaligan na maminaw kanato sa matag panahon, tabangan ta niya ug labaw sa tanan higugmaon.

People may fail us, misunderstand us, or even turn against us. But Jesus never asks us to carry our burdens alone. We can bring everything to Him—the things we can’t explain, the tears we can’t tell anyone about, and the weariness we’re too tired to put into words.

So when life gets heavy, remember where to run. Not just to a person, but to the nearest Heart that never fails-Jesus

Her words reminded us that when we feel tired, overwhelmed, or burdened, Jesus is always ready to welcome us. As Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Thank you, Sister, for sharing a message that encouraged us to make Jesus our first refuge, not our last resort.

MAS-AMICUS INDUCTION, 1st GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND ORIENTATION, ACCEPTANCE AND RENEWAL OF MEMBERS

The Movement of Adventist Students – Adventist Ministry to College and University Students (MAS-AMICUS) successfully conducted its Induction of Officers, 1st General Assembly and Orientation, Acceptance, and Renewal of Members at Calibunan Seventh-day Adventist Church, Cabadbaran City, Tubay District on September 12, 2026

The special Sabbath program brought together members of the CSUCC Chapter and NORMI Chapter for a meaningful day of worship, fellowship, orientation, and commitment to the mission of MAS-AMICUS.

The program commenced with Sabbath School and the Hour of Worship, followed by the induction of the new set of officers for the 2026–2027 term, led by Pastor JL Lim, Inducting Officer and Resource Speaker.

The afternoon session began with a devotional, followed by a series of informative and meaningful presentations. Ma’am Gisella Mae Chinedo, MAS-AMICUS Alumni and Resource Speaker, shared the history of the establishment of MAS-AMICUS and discussed its purpose and ministry among students.

Sir Elimech Menduza, MAS-AMICUS Alumni and Resource Speaker, discussed the MAS-AMICUS Constitution and Bylaws, emphasizing the responsibilities, principles, and organizational structure that guide the ministry.

Ma’am Rosedelle Dela Peña Alumni and Resource Speaker, shared her knowledge about the MAS-AMICUS Handshake, Clap, Whistle, Sign, and the meaning behind the MAS-AMICUS Logo, helping members better understand the identity, and values of the organization.

The new set of officers for the 2026–2027 term was formally introduced by Ma’am Cresence Shine, MAS-AMICUS Adviser.

This gathering served not only as an induction and orientation but also as an opportunity to strengthen fellowship, renew commitment, and inspire every member to actively participate in the mission of MAS-AMICUS. As a Christ-centered student ministry, MAS-AMICUS continues to encourage students to grow spiritually, serve others, uphold Christian values, and become faithful witnesses wherever they are.

May the new set of officers and all members remain committed to serving God and fulfilling the mission entrusted to MAS-AMICUS.

📖 Exodus 8–11 | Happy Sabbath! 🌿✨

A Sabbath reminder that God is faithful, powerful, and always in control. As we read Exodus 8–11, may we learn to trust His plans, obey His voice, and keep our hearts humble before Him.
