From June 17–20, 2026, participants from Assumption College of Nabunturan, Assumption Academy of Compostela, and Assumpta School of Tagum gathered at the Daughters of Mary Convent in Tagum for a grace-filled workshop on Designing Retreats and Recollections.

Rooted in the mission of Catholic education and spiritual formation, the gathering became more than a planning session—it was a sacred space of listening, discernment, and shared reflection. Together, the participants explored ways to create retreat experiences that foster deeper encounters with God, nurture authentic community, and accompany young people and educators in their journey of faith.

May the fruits of these days continue to bear witness to Christ’s love and inspire retreat programs that open hearts to conversion, hope, and joyful discipleship. Let us continue walking together, guided by the Holy Spirit, in forming communities that pray, serve, and evangelize with compassion and purpose.

ANNUAL CATECHISTS’ RETREAT 2026

The Annual Catechists’ Retreat of St. Michael the Archangel Parish was successfully conducted on May 28–30, 2026. The three-day spiritual gathering brought together parish catechists for a meaningful time of prayer, reflection, fellowship, and renewal of commitment to their ministry.

The retreat provided participants with opportunities for spiritual growth through conferences, recollections, communal prayers, and moments of personal reflection. It also strengthened the unity and collaboration among catechists as they continue their mission of evangelization and faith formation within the parish community.

The activity became a grace-filled encounter that inspired and renewed the participants’ dedication to serve God and His people with greater faith, zeal, and compassion.

The Diocese of Marbel held a Catechists Training last May 18–22, 2026, with more than 40 participants in attendance. Centered on the theme “Biblical Pastoral Application,” the formation deepened the catechists’ understanding of how the Word of God can be lived and shared in pastoral ministry.

It was a grace-filled days of learning, reflection, and renewal—strengthening their mission to proclaim the Gospel with clarity, faithfulness, and compassion in today’s pastoral context.

With grateful hearts, we thank the Lord for the grace-filled days of the Lectors’ Annual Retreat and Training last May 24–26, 2026 at the Parish of St. Michael the Archangel.

It was truly a sacred encounter — a time of prayer, silence, listening, renewal, and communion as ministers of the Word. Through every reflection, celebration, and shared moment, the Lord gently reminded us that before we proclaim His Word, we are first called to live it in humility, faith, and love.

May this retreat continue to deepen our commitment to serve the Church faithfully and to become living witnesses of Christ through the ministry entrusted to us.

KAABAG Annual Retreat & Training

The St. Michael the Archangel Parish – Simbalan held its Annual Retreat and Training for KAABAG (Lay Ministers) last May 14–16, 2026.

Representatives from every chapel gathered for prayer, reflection, and formation as they continue to lead the Kasaulugan sa Pulong.

A meaningful time of renewal and strengthening of their mission to serve and guide the community in prayer.

The Acolytes Annual Retreat and Training was held on May 12–15, 2026 at the Parish of St. Michael the Archangel, Simbalan, gathering 80 Knights of the Altar for a meaningful journey of spiritual renewal and deeper service at the Lord’s altar.

Strengthened in prayer, formed in service, and united in mission—ready to serve with reverence and joy.
