Together, we stand united in condemning corruption and praying for a nation guided by truth, justice, and moral leadership. 🙏

Kini mao ang Opisyal nga Logo sa Ika-60 nga Diamond Anniversary sa Holy Cross Parish, Ampayon, Butuan City, nga nagtimaan sa usa ka hinungdanong milestone sa espiritwal nga panaw sa parokya. Ubos niini, gimando ang tema nga nagkanayon: "Kan-umang Katilingbanong Kasaulogan sa Grasya, Pagtuo, Kinabuhi ug Gugma." Ang dagkong numero "60" nagrepresentar sa mga katuigan sa pag-alagad ug panaghiusa isip parokya sukad sa pagtukod niini. Ang lig-on ug nagdagayday nga disenyo sa numero nagpakita sa kusog, kalampusan, ug pagpadayon sa pagtuo sa katawhan sa Holy Cross Parish sulod sa unom ka dekada. Sa sulod sa nagdan-ag nga adlaw, makita ang hulmahan sa simbahan, nga nagsimbolo sa papel sa parokya isip tinubdan sa espirituhanong kahayag, panabang, ug giya sa mga parokyano. Ang adlaw mismo nagrepresentar sa grasya ug kainit sa pagtuo, nga nagahatag inspirasyon ug paglaum sa katawhan nga nagpadayon sa ilang espiritwal nga panaw. Ang kinatibuk-ang pagsagol sa kolor sa logo nagpalig-on sa batasan sa espirituhanong pagtubo, kainit sa komunidad, ug panaghiusa. Viva Señor Santo Niño!

𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 | 𝐒𝐫. 𝐒𝐭𝐨 𝐍𝐢𝐧̃𝐨

The Santo Niño de Cebu's history begins with Ferdinand Magellan's 1521 arrival in Cebu. He gifted a Child Jesus statue to Rajah Humabon's wife, Juana, who reacted with such joy that the event is believed to be the origin of the Sinulog dance and festival. Forty-four years later, Miguel López de Legazpi's forces burned Cebu, but the Santo Niño statue survived, miraculously discovered amidst the ruins. This event solidified the image's importance, leading Legazpi to promote its veneration. The statue, possibly crafted in Flanders, is richly adorned and depicts the Child Jesus in regal attire. Six years after its rediscovery, the first Christian church in the Philippines, dedicated to the Holy Name of Jesus, was built on the site where it was found, further cementing the Santo Niño's place in Filipino history and culture. The annual Sinulog festival continues to celebrate the Santo Niño and his enduring significance.
